Now You See Me: Now You Don’t — the third film in the Now You See Me series — is new in theaters. Are there plans for a fourth Now You See Me movie?

Directed by Reuben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t opened in theaters on Friday. The film features the return of the Now You See Me franchise stars Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas, Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco as Jack Wilder, Isla Fisher as Henley Reeves and Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley.

The longline for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t reads, “The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film.”

Rated PG-13, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t also stars Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike.

Generally, one of the major determining factors in whether a film gets a sequel is how well it performs in theaters. Luckily for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, it opened at No. 1 in its first weekend at domestic box office, Lionsgate announced in a press release on Sunday.

According to the studio, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t earned $21.1 million from 3,403 North American theaters, as well as $54.2 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $75.5 million. Variety reported that the film had a production budget “north of $90 million” before prints and advertising costs.

‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ Director Says Script Is Being Written For Fourth Film

While there has not yet been a formal announcement by Lionsgate about another film in the Now You See Me franchise, director Reuben Fleischer told Variety on Friday that the groundwork is already being laid for a Now You See Me 4.

“When we were done shooting, they started to talk about it,” Fleischer told Variety in reference to the powers that be at Lionsgate. “I guess they’d seen a lot of the dailies and were feeling good about it and had the confidence to move forward. We’re working on the script now, and hopefully that’ll be ready so we can make it next year.”

If the timeline falls into place for Fleischer, the release of a potential Now You See Me 4 will come a lot quicker than the seven-year wait between 2016’s Now You See Me 2 and Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. There was only a three-year wait between 2013’s Now You See Me movie and its first sequel.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is playing in theaters nationwide.
