I don’t know how big of a star Iwo Baraniewski and Ibo Aslan will become in the grand scheme of things, but these two UFC light heavyweight contenders just put on an absolute classic brawl on the UFC 323 prelims in Las Vegas—and it only lasted 1:29.
Baraniewski got the explosive TKO victory, but this was not just a great fight. In more than 30 years of consuming UFC action, I cannot remember seeing a better 90-second fight. Take a look at the entire brawl.
The Reaction
The MMA community responded immediately. When a fight is this good, you don’t need time to process—you just know.
Justin Gaethje, one of the most violent fighters in UFC history, summed it up simply: “A scrap.”
Coming from a man who has been in wars against Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Max Holloway, that endorsement carries weight.
One observer called it an instant classic.
Spinning Back Fist noted the fight delivered non-stop action from the opening bell.
Another reaction highlighted just how relentless both fighters were in the brief exchange.
The consensus across social media was clear: this was something special.
Both men threw caution aside and engaged in a firefight that had no business ending so quickly—yet somehow packed more violence into 89 seconds than most fights deliver in three rounds.

The UFC has started to reward singular fights with Hall of Fame inductions. The brief history of the concept seems to lean toward memorable clashes between top contenders or champions. Hopefully, there is an exception made.
This fight was that good, and if neither guy ever earns a title or even a ranking, it would be great to see their courage and work acknowledged beyond what should be an automatic Fight of the Night bonus.
