It’s almost the end of January, which means the offseason is here for most dynasty fantasy football leagues. With that being the case, we are now within the range where you should start making trades in your leagues again.
Previously, we looked at wide receivers and running backs to trade for, which you can find below. Today, we’ll be looking at the best quarterbacks and tight ends to trade for.
Not only that, but these three players will be very affordable in your dynasty fantasy football league. The goal is to gain value by trading for these players right now with the hope that they increase in value over the next 6-12 months.
1. Terrance Ferguson (KTC Rank: 141)
Not many people remember, but Terrance Ferguson was the 46th overall pick (second round) in the 2026 NFL draft. For reference, Harold Fannin Jr. went 67th overall (third round) in that same draft.
However, Ferguson didn’t have a role in this offense this past year, which is why his dynasty value is so low. Ferguson is valued as the 141st overall player in dynasty superflex leagues (TE17) after scoring 3.7 PPG (PPR) this past year.
However, it’s not uncommon to see tight ends take longer to develop due to the roles they need to learn as a blocker and receiver. Colby Parkinson was the starter this past year, but he’s 27 years old, and his numbers weren’t great.
Parkinson has never had more than 450 receiving yards in a season, and with Davante Adams getting older (33 years old), this offense is going to need to lean on someone else besides Puka Nacua.
Given the draft capital of Ferguson, there’s a clear path for him to become the number two target for the Los Angeles Rams in 2026.
2. Tyler Shough (KTC Rank: 78)
If Tyler Shough had better draft capital, he would be valued much higher than the QB22 (78th overall). This trade target is for superflex leagues only, but Shough looked like a possible franchise quarterback at times this year.
Unfortunately, the New Orleans Saints could draft over him in 2027 because he was just the 40th overall pick, which isn’t great for a quarterback. At the same time, Shough showed enough to where you can feel good betting on him as a long-term option.
The main problem with the value of Shough is that if you’re looking to invest in a young quarterback, he’s easily the best move. Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart both deserved to be valued higher than him, but not by that much.
Ward at 52 and Dart at 25 show how much of a value that Shough really is.
3. Malik Willis (KTC Rank: 164)
You can make a similar argument about Malik Willis, who’s the QB30, yet a number of quarterbacks he should be in a similar range to are drastically ahead of him.
For example, Kyler Murray at 103 averaged just 15.6 PPG in five games last year, and it seems like there’s a strong chance he will part ways with the Arizona Cardinals. Given the contract situation, it’s not a lock that he will be a starter in 2026.
Now Malik Willis isn’t a lock to be a starter either, but he’s played well when given an opportunity. In the one game Willis had over 15 passing attempts in 2025, he scored 31.5 fantasy points.
With Willis becoming a free agent in 2026, my thought is that he’ll sign a contract to start elsewhere. At least for a few years.
When you compare a player like Murray versus Willis with a rank of 164, it’s easy to see why he’s such a good value in most dynasty fantasy football leagues.
