English rockers Def Leppard don’t release albums as frequently as they used to, but the group does regularly churn out songs for its devoted fan base. The band has made sure to deliver at least one track every year for the past half decade, and less than a month into 2026, the first Def Leppard tune of the calendar year has arrived.
“Rejoice” has clearly thrilled followers of the outfit, as it wastes no time in becoming a bestseller in America.
Def Leppard Returns With “Rejoice”
Def Leppard appears inside the top 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, which details the bestselling tracks on what is often considered to be the most important sales platform for individual songs, especially in America. As of the time of writing, “Rejoice” lands at No. 10, narrowly sneaking into the tier as this new music Friday begins.
Def Leppard Ties “Rejoice” to Las Vegas Residency
There’s no word on a new album from Def Leppard, and at least at the moment, it does not appear that “Rejoice” fronts another era. Instead, it looks like the band dropped the new tune to help promote its upcoming residency in Las Vegas. Def Leppard is set to headline the Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning on February 3, with dates running throughout the month.
Def Leppard has not released a new album since 2022, when Diamond Star Halos became a top performer in a number of nations all around the world, including the group’s home country of the U.K. and the United States. Before that, Def Leppard, the group’s self-titled project, dropped in 2015.
Def Leppard Joins Harry Styles, Rob Zombie and Joji
“Rejoice” is one of four newly-released singles that launch into the top 10 on the iTunes Top Songs ranking at the outset of a new tracking week in the global music industry. In America, the list is led by “Aperture,” the long-awaited comeback smash from Harry Styles. That tune, which was actually released on Thursday (January 22), leads the charge and may do so for days to come.
Only a few slots behind Styles come Rob Zombie with (I’m a) Rock “N” Roller and Joji with “Last of a Dying Breed.” As of the time of writing, those cuts appear at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
Hysteria Reappears on iTunes Albums Chart
Def Leppard fills just one space on the iTunes Top Songs chart, and the band also manages to appear on the iTunes Top Albums roster as well. Hysteria, the group’s fourth full-length, which was originally released back in 1987 and which topped lists on both sides of the Atlantic, rises slightly on the iTunes ranking that looks only at EPs and albums. Hysteria appears at No. 119, and it may continue to rise throughout Friday.
Def Leppard Continues the Band’s One Song Per Year Pattern
2026 marks the fourth year in a row in which Def Leppard has delivered just one track – at least so far. The group covered the classic “Stand by Me” in 2025, and the year prior, “Just Like ‘73” dropped. 2023 saw Def Leppard push “Animal” from the remix album Drastic Symphonies, a collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The last time Def Leppard shared multiple singles in one calendar year was in 2022, when the rockers were promoting Diamond Star Halos. That project produced “Kick,” “Take What You Want,” and “Fire It Up,” which all managed to become bestsellers on Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart for a short time.
