This is as many as were used in London’s most recent New Years celebrations, though admittedly only half the size of the number used at CES in Las Vegas — the show-offs.
However, the ISE 2026 Drone Show will be synchronised with real-time graphics that will appear on the 193 m² LED ISE South Access Welcome Screen, and will also be accompanied by live musicians, and an opera singer.
The show’s production company LANG AG promises that it will be “an expertly synchronised performance of light and sound”, showcasing, “advanced drone choreography and dynamic visual storytelling”.
The live synchronization of the drones, 3D graphics and human talent that is the main challenge says, “says Christoph Gockel, Managing Director at RealTime Department the system integration agency acting as technical coordinator of the show.
“Both the drones with the visual content on the transparent LED, as well as the live music and sound, had to be precisely aligned,” says Christoph Gockel, Managing Director at RealTime Department. “With only a short time between official approval and the start of the show, close coordination between all parties involved was essential. Especially on the opening night, featuring an opera singer, pianist and violinist, the performance will turn the ISE South Entrance into a special evening experience.”
The drone show will take place in the sky above the South Access at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía at 18:30 every evening of the upcoming ISE 2026, taking place between 3-5 February.
