Marco Rubio Insists U.S. Still ‘Open To Diplomacy’ Amid Iran Escalation—What Could That Look Like?

There has been an escalation in strikes between the U.S. and Iran throughout the last 10 days over who has control of the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire over and reinstated the blockade of Iranian ports. The U.S. military has continued to hit Iranian targets including military command centers, missile sites, a desalination plant and other infrastructure. Iran has hit commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and has targeted countries in the region that are home to U.S. military bases, like Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan (Ret.), who served as the Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, joined “Forbes Newsroom” to discuss the latest in the conflict.
