Since he earned his first win, Future has become one of the most prolific musicians working today — and one of the most commercially successful. More often than not, whenever he delivers a project, whether on his own or alongside another hip-hop star, it opens at No. 1. As his latest studio LP The Real Me becomes an instant champion, the rapper breaks a tie with several legendary acts and moves up the all-time ranking of artists with the most rulers.
Future Debuts at No. 1 With The Real Me
The Real Me launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week with 131,400 equivalent album units. The vast majority of that sum comes from streaming activity. Songs featured on the project generated more than 120 million plays through platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and others during its first tracking period. The Real Me only sold slightly more than 13,200 copies – a fraction of his first-week sum.
Future Scores His Twelfth No. 1 Album
The Real Me gives Future his twelfth No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He now stands alone and claims the fifth-most champions in the history of the country’s leading albums ranking.
The Beatles remain far ahead of every other act with 19 leaders. Drake recently tied Taylor Swift for second place, with 15 champions, when Iceman opened at No. 1 only a few months ago. During the same frame, his albums Maid of Honour and Habibti debuted directly behind it, making him the first artist to occupy the top three positions simultaneously. Jay-Z follows with 14 Billboard 200 No. 1s.
Future Passes Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem and Ye
Before this week, the rapper was tied for the fifth-most No. 1s in the more than half-century-long tenure of the Billboard 200. He was matched with Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem and Ye (formerly Kanye West), as each of those musicians has collected 11 No. 1 albums.
Future Has Racked Up 19 Top 10 Albums
Future has now sent 21 projects to the Billboard 200, and all but two have reached the top 10. 12 climbed all the way to No. 1, while another four missed the summit by only one space. Pluto x Baby Pluto, his collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, peaked at No. 2. Future also reached the runner-up position with Future & Juice WRLD Present… WRLD on Drugs alongside Juice WRLD, Super Slimey with Young Thug and his solo album Honest.
Three additional releases stopped elsewhere inside the highest tier. Beast Mode 2, the Save Me EP and Pluto peaked at Nos. 3, 5 and 8, respectively.

Future Accrued His 12 No. 1s in Just Over a Decade
Future has accumulated his dozen Billboard 200 champions in an extraordinarily short period of time. He first reached the summit in August 2015, which means that the entirety of his roundup of rulers has led the charge in only a little more than a decade.
Before The Real Me, Future most recently added to his total in April 2024, when he scored two No. 1 albums in the same month alongside producer Metro Boomin. We Don’t Trust You opened at the summit early that April. Only a few weeks later, We Still Don’t Trust You followed it to No. 1, giving the collaborators a pair of leaders in less than a month.
