As I am constantly looking for great new shows to watch in any given week, I’ve made my way through a whole lot of well-reviewed ones in 2026, from Widow’s Bay to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Now, however, a new show has emerged that is, at least mathematically, the best series of 2026.

The show is Furious, the new Hulu crime series starring Emmy Rossum, which boasts a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. If you follow this sort of thing, you may note that multiple shows or seasons in any given year can have 100% Rotten Tomatoes scores. I can throw a rock and hit a few right now. The difference is the number of reviews to make up that 100%, meaning they’re all staying positive as more are added. So while The Witness, President Curtis and Dark Winds all have 100%s right now, that’s only with 12 reviews in each. Brand new arrivals, The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Bombing of Pan Am 103, have only 6 and 5 reviews, respectively, to make their 100% scores.

That is not the case with Furious, which has a “certified fresh” 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, reaching a certain threshold for that classification, and that is with a full 37 reviews in, more than any other show this year that has maintained a 100% score. You could still consider, say, Widow’s Bay more impressive with its 98%, given that it’s based on 102 total reviews.

Furious is definitely a must-watch, as since these reviews went up, I figured I had to see how it was getting this level of praise. Shameless veteran Emmy Rossum plays an FBI agent who is inadvertently set on the path of a killer targeting rich men. A woman, it turns out, a rarity for the serial killer profile.

The killer is not hidden here unlike most crime series, she’s the co-star of Furious. Played by Lola Petticrew, we see her move from kill to kill, a tiny woman taking down these men one after the other. We learn more about her motivations as time goes on, and needless to say, this is not the kind of “because they were there” random killing we have seen from many serial killers, both fictional and in real life. This is something else, and what that something is makes the show so compelling.

Is Furious the best, or one of the best shows of 2026? I think it’s a little too early to say. We are only three episodes into the season, though critics have watched it all. There will be eight episodes in total, and it’s not based on a book, but rather the 1987 film Black Widow, which is a pretty unusual origin story.

I would certainly check Furious out. It’s definitely a departure for the genre, and you can see if you agree with 100% of critics so far.
