Undisputed is undergoing some pretty significant changes.
In addition to a paid content update dropping on Thursday, December 12, the game is also delivering a patch and free-content update on the same date.
The game’s official social media accounts shared some of the information on Wednesday, and there are some wild additions coming–including an arena set in Atlantis.
Here is a look at the post from X.
Turki Alalshikh has been scanned and added to the game. You can see him in the trailer for a short time.
The Saudi power broker has supported the game. Riyadh Season was already in the game, and now Alalshikh will apparently present winners with the Undisputed title belt when they unify the championships of the weight class.
There’s also new attire for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk matching what they wore in their first fight. Atlantis and Cambrian Hall, an esteemed venue in Great Britain, have also been added for users at no charge.
There will be users who say, “no one wanted an underwater venue.” The truth is, no one would have asked for it, but that doesn’t mean none of the users will think it’s cool and give it a try. Developers can’t only add things fans ask for; they have to be creative as well.
Users can win titles in multiple divisions and unify in those weight classes. The developers have also added new knockdown and KO animations.
There are other gameplay and bug fixes set to go live tomorrow as well. While the new content is welcomed, the impact the new update has on gameplay will be paramount in the eyes of those who hope to see the game reach its potential.
The update that landed in November closed some of the gaps, but there are still a few blockers holding Undisputed back. Soon it will be up to the dev and publishers to decide if they can implement all of the fixes needed to take things to the next level in an update, or if it makes sense to pour all of those resources into Undisputed 2.
It’s easy to forget, the game has only been officially released for two months. It seems like it’s been a lot longer because of how long Undisputed stayed in early access on Steam.
I’ve been playing Undisputed in some form for nearly two years. I’m convinced Undisputed 2 will be miles better than the original on every level.
The data and experience Steel City has been able to collect through early access and the 60 days since Undisputed went live on consoles is invaluable.
We’ll have to wait and see if the original can move us closer to where I believe the sequel will ultimately land.
The paid update is headlined by Jake Paul, but also features Zhilei Zhang, James “Buster” Douglas, Otto Wallin, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, and Marco Antonio Barrera.
The cost is rumored to be $19.99. That should be made more clear on Thursday when the updates are available.
