Astell&Kern’s sub-brand Activo has announced the launch of a new pair of wired earphones or IEMs. The Volcano are wired IEMs designed to provide a refined listening experience for music lovers.
The new IEMs feature a triple driver arrangement made up of an 8mm dynamic driver paired with two 6mm dynamic drivers which have been custom-tuned to deliver what Activo describes as a “deep, thrilling sound that enhances every music experience.”
At the heart of the Volcano’s performance is an internal port system, optimized to provide a natural, balanced sound across the entire frequency range. The port has a unique tapered structure that allows the sound from each frequency to flow unimpeded to deliver “a smooth and immersive listening experience.”
Each ergonomically designed and crater-inspired housing contains three dynamic drivers while providing a stable and comfortable fit. Made from durable and lightweight polycarbonate, the IEMs are sufficiently portable without sacrificing audio performance.
Activo has used a high-quality cable on the Volcano featuring a hybrid design of seven-core silver-plated copper wire and five-core oxygen-free copper, ensuring clarity and a comfortable listening experience. The IEMs include multiple connector options, with 3.5mm, 4.4mm, and USB-C terminations to suit a wide range of devices. This is unusual at this price point.
With enhanced ear wingtips for comfort, Activo claims the Volcano provide extended listening sessions without discomfort. The package also includes silicone ear tips in large, medium and small sizes for an optimum fit.
Activo is describing the Volcano as “the perfect companion” for the brand’s recently launched Activo P1personal music player.
