In some good news for Gundam Breaker 4, we are going to get an open network test for the game in a few weeks.

Open network tests are always a good idea, as they allow developers to debug a game at scale. Not only in terms of the game itself, but also from a stress testing standpoint for the networking.

You can also get very helpful player telemetry from these open network tests and that can help with balancing a game before release, although it’s probably a bit too late for that in this case.

Gundam Breaker 4 will also have a playable demo available at Anime Expo, in case you are planning on going and want to check the game out.

I am still very much unsure about Gundam Breaker 4, especially after the travesty of New Gundam Breaker, but an open network test is certainly an encouraging move.

The open network test will have multiplayer battles with 3-player co-op against waves of enemies, including giant boss mecha (shown below).

Like the older games, as you defeat enemies you can collect parts to make bigger and better mobile suits.

In a series first, you will also be able to use your creations as their avatar in the multiplayer lobby, which is a nice touch.

The open network test is from July 18 until July 20, with details over on the official site.

Gundam Breaker 4 will be released on August 29 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC.
