DJ Fat Tony, who played at Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding, said he felt the timing of Victoria’s dance with her son was “inappropriate” and that it led to an “awkward” scene at the wedding on British daytime TV show “This Morning” on Friday, fueling accusations made by the younger Beckham earlier this week.

Key Facts

“There was no sl*t dropping, there was no…black PVC catsuits, there was no Spice Girls action,” said DJ Fat Tony on the show, “Why I said it was inappropriate as well, was because it was the timing.”

Fat Tony said performer Marc Anthony called Victoria Beckham, who he described as the “most beautifulest woman in the room” to the stage when Brooklyn and Nicola were due to have their first dance “which had been planned weeks in advance” according to Brooklyn in a statement earlier this week, at which point she joined her son on stage, leaving him “devastated” and causing Nicola to “leave the room crying her eyes out.”

He went on to describe the post-wedding brunch as “the most awkward part of it all” as the drama was being “discussed” by guests.

Beckham first accused his parents of disrespecting his marriage in a series of Instagram posts on Monday, saying he had “no intention” of reconciling with his family.

Crucial Quote

“The whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room,” said Fat Tony, describing how Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to “put his hands on his mother’s hips” for a Latin dance.

Big Number

250,000 – The number of messages DJ Fat Tony claims to have received about the affair from people asking him to “spill the tea.” “The reason I’m on here is because I’ve been inundated,” he said.

Key Background

On Monday, Brooklyn Beckham posted a series of Instagram stories accusing parents David and Victoria of “controlling narratives in the press” about their family through “performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships” and of repeatedly disrespecting him and his wife, Nicola. “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” wrote Beckham, describing how his mother cancelled production of the wedding dress she had designed for his bride “in the eleventh hour” and ruined their wedding celebration by dancing “very inappropriately” during what was supposed to be the bride and groom’s first dance. The following day, during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” David appeared to indirectly address the drama, saying he has “always spoken about social media and the power of social media. For the good and for the bad,” and that, “The bad we’ve talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous.” He went on to say that his children “make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
