“I Just Might” by Bruno Mars is the biggest song in America this week, and it debuts at No. 1 on the Hot 100 thanks to healthy sales, impressive streams, and a quick adoption at radio all across the country. The tune, the first taste of Mars’ upcoming album, The Romantic – due in late February – brings the superstar back to the top spot on several of Billboard’s most competitive rankings, as he once again claims not only the most consumed track in the nation, but also the bestselling.

Mars matches with several other powerhouses in the American music industry and advances on a competitive all-time roster thanks to his new top seller.

“I Just Might” Launches at No. 1 on the Sales Chart

“I Just Might” launches at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, which looks only at which tracks actually sell the most copies on platforms like iTunes. The Hot 100 is a consumption-based ranking, and while sales factor into where a title lands, so too do streams and radio airplay.

How Many Copies Did “I Just Might” Sell In Its First Week?

“I Just Might” arrives at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart with just over 12,800 copies sold, according to Luminate. It is one of only two tracks in America that sold 10,000 copies or more in the most recent tracking frame.

“I Just Might” pushes Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” off the throne, as that cut, the first single from her blockbuster The Life of a Showgirl, sold 11,600 copies – a little more than 1,000 fewer than “I Just Might” in its initial period.

Bruno Mars’ No. 1 Hits on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart

Mars earns his milestone twelfth No. 1 as he once again leads the charge on the Digital Song Sales chart. Here is a rundown of all of his leaders on the purchase-only list.

  • “24K Magic”
  • “Apt.” with Rosé
  • “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga
  • “Grenade”
  • “I Just Might”
  • “It Will Rain”
  • “Just The Way You Are”
  • “Locked Out Of Heaven”
  • “Nothin’ On You” with B.o.B
  • “Please Me” with Cardi B
  • “Uptown Funk!” with Mark Ronson
  • “When I Was Your Man”

Bruno Mars Ties Beyoncé, BTS and Eminem

Mars is now tied for the sixth-most leaders in the history of the Digital Song Sales chart. As he moves from 11 winners to 12, the singer-songwriter matches Beyoncé, BTS, and Eminem.

Last week, before “I Just Might” debuted, Mars was already tied with another one of pop music’s most successful hitmakers on the list of the artists that have scored the most champions on the sales ranking. “I Just Might” pushes him ahead of Katy Perry, who is steady with her 11 rulers.

Bruno Mars Doubles Up on the Sales Chart

Mars occupies two spaces on the Digital Song Sales ranking, which features 25 spots. As “I Just Might” arrives at No. 1, “Die With a Smile,” his collaboration with Lady Gaga, returns. The tune, which won the pair a Grammy and which opened at No. 1 in August of 2024, is back at No. 16.

As “Die With a Smile” reappears. The cut manages a relatively rare feat, as it celebrates 52 weeks – its first full year – as one of the bestselling songs in the nation.

Zach Bryan and Jason Aldean Also Debut Behind Bruno Mars

Mars claims the most impressive launch during a fairly quiet week on the Digital Song Sales chart. Just one other newly-released tune, “Easier Gone” by country superstar Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany, manages to begin its time inside the top 10. “Easier Gone” debuts at No. 10.

Three other tracks – by Zach Bryan, Peter, Peter, and Cody Parks and the Dirty South – also land on the Digital Song Sales list for the first time. Several popular cuts from names such as Brandon Lake, Cody Johnson, and Sombr find their way back to the roster as well.

Bruno Mars Dominates Many Billboard Charts With His New Hit

The Digital Song Sales chart is one of nine rosters published by Billboard that Mars leads this week as “I Just Might” arrives. He also commands the Hot 100, as well as the Streaming Songs and multiple genre-specific, streaming- and sales-focused tallies all at the same time.
