Activision, especially Raven, wants you to play the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign, and Monday’s trailer helped make it more appealing.

So far so good for Raven, the studio that handled the production of the game’s story mode.

Fan comments seem to support that concept. If there was any question about the hype surrounding the upcoming release, the response to the global gameplay trailer delivered the answers.

The trailer on the game’s official YouTube channel had more than 4.1 million views after being published for 10 hours.

There were already over 2,000 comments. If you’re not one of the 4.1 million people who saw it on YouTube, here is a look at the trailer

One fan pointed out the stark contrast between the mood of the campaign trailer and what we’re bound to see in multiplayer action.

“I love how the trailers are so gritty, immersive then the Multiplayer has cats, pigeons, Teletubbies running around.”

We may not see actual Teletubbies, but it’s a good bet we’ll see more lighthearted characters and antics equipped with omni-movement, human–and not-so-human shields.

That’s the fun difference between Black Ops titles and Modern Warfare–at least, that’s the way things have seemingly gone for the past several years as the BO brand has become the super-action hero of the COD family.

The trailer is packed with action scenes fit for any of the past and some of the next military action films with an overpowered hero and lovable supporting cast members destined to bite the bullet in a scene culminated by a primal scream from our protagonist.

“Please let the campaign be more than three hours,” one fan begged.

This user may be in luck. Turtle Beach says the BO6 campaign will take players six to nine hours to complete. That’s not bad for a game that will make most of its mark and money in the proven multiplayer system.

I’d prefer to play the campaign the moment I get my hands on the game, but that may require some discipline for hardcore multiplayer fans. This year’s game won’t allow users to play campaign mode during early access. Instead, Activision delivers a global launch on October 25, with every game aspect going live simultaneously.

Previous versions allowed fans to play through the campaign before heading to multiplayer.

CharlieIntel polled their X account followers to determine if users would be less likely to play the campaign now that it is going live simultaneously as multiplayer.

Take the results with a grain of salt because people say things in polls that aren’t aligned with their actual behaviors–especially the toxic trolls, and the COD community has its fair share.

That said, just under 38% of the first 29,000 fans who voted said they “will play it eventually.”

Just under 36% voted, “Yes, playing it first.

About 27% said, “No, not playing it.”

Almost 30,000 people were interested enough in the game to vote in a poll on X, and the engagement post still had 17 hours remaining when this article was published.

It’s tough to quantify the enormity of this release and how it’ll impact the gaming habits of users in the industry. Based on what we’re seeing, almost every game released in October and shortly after must brace itself for the Black Ops effect.
