EA just released a calendar detailing some important dates for fans to watch as College Football 25 is released.
They call it Rankings Week, a strategic move to keep fans informed and prepared for the upcoming release. Each day of the week, the calendar will bring new information, ensuring that fans are up to speed and ready for the big day.
We’ll see a list of the Toughest Places to Play in College Football 25 on Tuesday. There will likely be a tie-in to how this list affects home-field advantage in the game.
Expect a trailer with scenes, visuals, and other game elements that many will see for the first time.
The June 26 drop might be the most important from a pure gameplay standpoint. I wrote this in a previous article about the game, but it’s not a stretch to say that College Football 25 might have the best presentation of any sports video game ever released–and it’s still almost a month away.
Having played it and seen the depth in that part of the product, I know it’s not a stretch.
When other users experience the full complement of audio and visual content included in the game, there may be more who agree with my statement.
The only sports video game that comes to mind regarding presentation is NFL 2K5. The halftime show and post-game wrap-ups were beautiful in that game. We’ve never seen another sports video game come close to what was accomplished in that classic football title.
The Top Offenses and Defenses rankings should provide us with a look inside the top rosters in the game. While I have played four complete games, I didn’t get a good look at player ratings, so it’ll be my first time seeing what some players and teams are rated.
We’ll likely see a few more player likenesses with this drop, which still feels surreal, considering we’re talking about a college sports game.
Lastly, the bragging rights should kick up on Friday with the Overall Team Power Rankings. While many fans will pine for their favorite school to receive a strong ranking, I’m interested in seeing how closely EA follows ESPN’s Power Index.
For reference, according to ESPN, the Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Will EA follow suit?
We will find out the answer to that question and several more by the end of the week. EA College Football 25 releases on July 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
There is also a pre-order option to get three days early access, and a special option to pre-order College Football 25 and Madden 25 together for $50 less than the two games would cost separately.
