The Trump Organization and a partner are considering plans to build a skyscraper in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, according to a report.
Eric Trump, who took over President Trump’s conglomerate after he won his first term, is expected to visit the nation this week, according to a Vietnamese government document obtained by Reuters.
City officials are invited to “attend a dinner party with Eric Trump, senior vice president of the Trump Organization” on Thursday evening at a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the document, which is dated May 15 and signed by the head of the city’s foreign ministry department.
Trump Organization representatives would visit an upscale, central area of the city to “survey the proposed location of the Trump Tower building and hope to have a working session with the city’s leaders about this project,” the document said.
City and company officials are expected to meet again later on Monday, according to the Reuters report.
The Trump Organization and its partner, real estate developer Kinhbac City, did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Vietnam recently approved a separate $1.5 billion plan from the holding company and its local partner to build golf courses, hotels and real estate projects throughout the country, state-run Vietnamese media reported Friday.
It’s a massive project, including a golf course the size of 336 American football fields, according to the Associated Press.
A person with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed to Reuters Eric’s upcoming visit and said the groundbreaking ceremony for the golf course is scheduled for Wednesday in northern Vietnam.
The South Asian nation has been rushing to reach a deal with President Trump to avoid a hefty 46% tax on its exports to the US, including clothing and electronics.
It has offered to slash all tariffs on US goods to zero, lower non-tariff barriers, clamp down on counterfeiting and authorize satellite service from Starlink, Trump ally Elon Musk’s internet provider.
Vietnam, a popular manufacturing alternative to China, has taken heat from the US for not doing enough to prevent Chinese goods from coming into the country.
It is unknown how the Trump Organization and Kinhbac will split costs and revenues from the $1.5 billion golf course plan, or the potential tower project.
The Trump Organization has many luxury golf projects around the world, across the US, Europe and the Middle East.
