Battlestate Games, the development studio behind Escape From Tarkov, is 10 years old and to celebrate the anniversary of the studio there’s a surprise sale and free gifts for all players.

The anniversary sale is on now and runs until October 15, 9:59 PM BST / 4:59 PM EDT. During this time, both Escape From Tarkov and Escape From Tarkov Arena are on sale with a 25% discount across all editions of both games. All upgrades between the different editions are also on sale, however the permanent 50% discount for upgrading from Edge of Darkness Edition to The Unheard Edition does not stack with the sale discount.

But, it’s not just new players or those looking to get an upgrade who can benefit from the anniversary celebrations. Escape From Tarkov players can claim a free gift in the main game, however it is only available in the PvP game mode, not PvE. This is likely due to the long term economic impact it would have, rather than any dislike of the mode.

To claim the gift, you need to go to the Escape From Tarkov website and log into your account. Once you have logged in, you need to head to your profile page and scroll to the bottom. Below the option to buy the expansions, there should be a new image in the gifts section. Clicking on that will send the gift to your PvP account, providing you have played at least once this wipe.

The free gift appears to be an Uzi, some ammo, a helmet, armour and a bottle of moonshine, which certainly isn’t a bad collection of loot for free.

Reaching 10 years is certainly an impressive feat for the studio, and with Tarkov in a great place and gearing up for a full launch, you wouldn’t bet against them making it another 10 years. There have been mistakes along the way, but there is no doubting that Battlestate Games has made of the best games ever in the form of Tarkov, and I’m still excited to see exactly what will be added in the coming months.

We know that a major engine upgrade is on the way soon, and we are expecting some more spooky events for Halloween sooner rather than later. But the real interesting stuff for me is the content that has been teased for the 1.0 release, which is set to include some proper story quests and a complete narrative that should explain a lot about the world.
