Activision has opened the floodgates of information on Call of Duty Black Ops 6. On Wednesday, October 16, the publisher revealed every multiplayer mode and map coming to the game at launch on October 21.

There are ten multiplayer modes, 13 alternate modes, and four additional modes. For maps, there are 12 core and four strike.

Per the Call of Duty Blog, here is a breakdown of all the maps and modes. There are also several new screenshots to whet your appetite for Activision’s definition of war.

Multiplayer Modes

  • Team Deathmatch (6v6)
  • Eliminate enemy players to earn scores for your team. Face Off Alternate Mode also supports Team Deathmatch.
  • Domination (6v6)
  • Capture, hold, and defend objectives to earn score for your team. Domination Flags now include a small zone around the flag itself where scoring occurs. Face Off Alternate Mode also supports Domination.
  • Search & Destroy (6v6)
  • Teams alternate between detonating and defusing a bomb. No respawns. Kill Cam showcases the final kill of the game, rather than the Best Play.
  • Kill Confirmed (6v6)
  • Recover dog tags to score for your team and deny enemy scores. Face Off Alternate Mode also supports Kill Confirmed.
  • Free-For-All (8)
  • Eliminate enemies to earn score. The first to reach the score limit will achieve victory.
  • Hardpoint (6v6)
  • Capture and hold the Hardpoint zone to earn score for your team. Consecutive Hardpoints are numbered to keep track of locations.
  • Gunfight (2v2)
  • Eliminate all enemy players using pre-determined classes to win the round. No respawns.
  • Headquarters (6v6)
  • Compete to capture Headquarters and then defend it. Respawns are disabled for the team that holds the HQ.
  • Kill Order (6v6)
  • Eliminate the enemy HVT while keeping your HVT alive. HVT kills earn bonus score for your team. Face Off Alternate Mode also supports Kill Order.
  • Control (6v6)
  • Take turns attacking and defending the zones.

Alternate Modes

  • Face Off Domination (6v6)
  • Capture, hold, and defend objectives to earn score for your team. Scorestreaks disabled. Domination Flags include a small scoring zone.
  • Face Off Team Deathmatch (6v6)
  • Eliminate enemy players to score for your team. Scorestreaks disabled.
  • Face Off Kill Order (6v6)
  • Eliminate the enemy HVT while keeping your HVT alive. HVT kills earn bonus score for your team. Scorestreaks disabled.
  • Face Off Kill Confirmed (6v6)
  • Recover dog tags to score for your team and deny enemy score. Scorestreaks disabled.
  • Hardcore Mode Variant
  • Matches with limited HUD, friendly fire enabled, and significantly lowered health. Hardcore Quick Play game modes include:
  • Team Deathmatch, Kill Order, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Kill Confirmed, Free-For-All, Face Off Moshpit

  • Training Course
  • Get familiar with Omni-movement innovations and combat basics on the Protocol map.
  • Firing Range
  • A familiar location to test weapons, now with new features such as moving target dummies, recoil plates, and accuracy trackers.
  • Theater Mode
  • Available in Multiplayer at launch for Black Ops 6. Capture replays, switch perspectives, and more.
  • Private Matches
  • Create custom matches with comprehensive menus to adjust gameplay.

Launch Maps for Multiplayer

Core Maps (6v6)

  • Babylon: Battle amongst the ruins of an ancient city with vertical gameplay.
  • Derelict: A train graveyard in the Appalachian Mountains becomes a skirmish zone.
  • Lowtown: Fight in a dockside neighborhood with market stalls and a canal for flanking.
  • Payback: A Rogue Black Ops safehouse in the Bulgarian mountains under attack.
  • Protocol: Island citadel and training course, with multiple strategic points.
  • Red Card: Stadium map with both interior and exterior play areas.
  • Rewind: Liberty Shopping Plaza offers a unique layout with multiple routes and objectives.
  • Scud: Desert military outpost with strategic sniper points near a radar dish.
  • Skyline: Luxury rooftop resort with multiple combat zones, including a panic room.
  • Subsonic: Bomber team training facility, featuring central hangars and perimeter destruction.
  • Vault: Desert set palace with monuments and strategic points around a central vault.
  • Vorkuta: Stormy Soviet labor camp turned battlefield with both exterior and interior transitions.

Strike Maps (2v2/6v6)

  • Gala: Washington D.C. fundraising event aftermath with tight spaces for fast-paced action.
  • Pit: Underground mining tunnel, featuring natural light, tight spaces, and vertical gameplay.
  • Stakeout: Mediterranean apartment with combat across living spaces and balconies.
  • Warhead: Nuketown-inspired neighborhood reclaimed by desert sands, fast-paced tactical play.

The significant asset and info dumps will continue as we move closer to the October 21 release date. According to Activision, blogs on zombies, weapons, gear, and the progression system will be released.

Overall, the info dump appears to have gotten positive feedback. Popular COD content creator InkSlasher published a video reviewing the information.

The video above has 17,000 views in its first five hours live and hundreds of comments. Many of them are from COD fans who can’t wait to get their hands on the game.

As InkSlasher mentions in the video, the Theater Mode sounds interesting. I’m one of those guys who wished Call of Duty was playable in the third person.

Theater Mode allows you to watch the game from that camera and fly camera. I can’t wait to see the content produced from Theater Mode. If done correctly, users could literally shoot action scenes that look like movies, thanks to the sprawling environments and the visuals available on current-gen consoles.
