As well as announcing new wireless headphones and earbuds at IFA 2024, beyerdynamic has also unveiled its flagship gaming headset. The MMX 330 PRO is the brand’s first open-back headset in the MMX gaming lineup. The new headset is aimed at hardened gamers looking for the best sound.

The MMX 330 PRO headset combines professional studio drivers and microphone quality, as well as excellent comfort and a wide soundstage for a spacious and realistic gaming experience.

The new headset uses beyerdynamic’s STELLAR.45 drivers which I recently tested in the DT770 PROX headphones and can vouch for their quality and superb bass and treble. The open-back design of the MMX 330 PRO gives gamers an advantage with its wider soundstage that makes in-game environments feel more realistic and immersive for a more natural and spacious audio experience.

As all gamers know, communication can be the difference between winning and losing. The cardioid polar pattern of the MMX 330 PRO’s 10mm condenser mic captures voices naturally while also reducing background noise. The combined MMX 330 cable eliminates crosstalk so teammates won’t hear the game picked up through the microphone signal.

Extended gaming sessions require comfortable headsets and the MMX 330 PRO has ultra-soft velour ear pads filled with breathable memory foam and open foam to keep the sound spacious and natural.

The buttoned head cushion is made of soft and flexible memory foam so it can adjust to the shape of the gamer’s head. The integrated fontanelle recess prevents pressure on sensitive areas of the skull, ensuring comfort even during the longest games.

The headset is made with lightweight materials and includes replaceable parts. All headsets require maintenance so beyerdynamic says it has prioritized durability and serviceability with the MMX 330 PRO.

The headset is handmade at beyerdynamic’s HQ in Heilbronn, Germany, using robust metal parts and scratch-resistant plastic for a more durable design that can withstand the punishment of competitive gaming.

For easy serviceability, as well as adaptation to different consoles and interfaces, the cable with remote and console adapter fits any use case and can be easily replaced along with earpads, headband, and other accessories.

The MMX 330 PRO is compatible with PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. It’s available from today for $329.99 at the beyerdynamic e-shop and Amazon.com.
