GSB Financial Services has appointed Joseph Jawad as a senior partner at GSB Private, located in the company’s Dubai branch.

Jawad has moved to the company from Schroders, a multinational investment manager, where he worked as a client relationship director situated in Switzerland.

He oversaw the bank’s coverage of Middle Eastern wealth managers and financial organisations while he was at Schroders, where he also provided services to affluent families around the GCC.

Jawad had previously worked for Standard Bank Group, HSBC, and Arbuthnot Latham, and has served Middle Eastern families by working in London, Geneva, Dubai, Jersey, and other prominent financial hubs.

He focuses on working with family offices and key family advisers to address the various difficulties and responsibilities that come with significant wealth.

David Smylie, group head of GSB Private, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Joseph to the GSB Private team, and he brings considerable experience across our three core service lines; Private Banking, Private Office, and Private Finance. Joseph’s skillset, dynamism and knowledge & experience of the region will add huge value and further bolster GSB’s capabilities.”

The hire follows the establishment of the GSB Capital division, which specialises in M&A, growth capital, direct investment, and a variety of other advisory services.

With teams in the UK and the UAE, the new subsidiary GSB Capital offers M&A, growth capital (debt and equity), direct investment, debt advising, and other advisory services.

Along with the new GSB Capital subsidiary, the financial services group GSB comprises of:

  • GSB Wealth: provides experienced guidance on all elements of financial planning, such as pension and retirement planning, investment planning, tax planning, cash flow simulation, insurance, and more.

  • GSB Private: provides high net worth and ultra-high net worth people, families, businesses, and structures with an independent platform for private banking, private finance, and private offices. In addition, GSB Private Finance, the company’s in-house whole-of-market debt and finance brokerage, serves as an outside asset manager.

“GSB expands its private team in Dubai” was originally created and published by Private Banker International, a GlobalData owned brand.
