Looking for Thursday’s Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:

We’ve come to Friday at last, dearest Strandistarians. This is my last day on this particular guide, though my daily Wordle column will continue. And I’ll be back in two weeks, of course, to walk with you from grid to grid, uncovering words together. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Let’s solve this Strands!

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Breakdown

Oddly enough, I found SEQUIN first. I suppose it’s because I saw that Q and knew that QU had to be in the word. It took quite a bit of trial and error before I finally got to SEQUIN, but this helped a great deal. Once I had LACE and TASSEL, I went back to an earlier word I’d stumbled across but didn’t work: THING. Working backwards (and forwards) I came up with the spangram, CLOTHINGACCENTS, which made my last two words pretty simple. FRINGE and EMBROIDERY all tied up in a bow, my work here was done.
