SS Rajamouli re-released his Bahubali films as a combined one and the three-hour-forty five minutes-long film had an impressive opening weekend. Comscore has ranked Bahubali The Epic among world’s top-grossing films for the weekend ending November 2. It recorded $5.06 million worldwide gross collection for the film in days since it hit theatres on October 31. Prabhas plays the lead role in the film which also features Ramya Krishnan, Nassr, Sathyaraj, Rana Daggubati and Tamannah Bhatia in important roles.
Bahubali The Epic Crosses $5 million in first weekend
A decade after SS Rajamouli first caught the imagination of the global audience, the Indian filmmaker has combined two of his most popular films into one. Bahubali The Epic is Bahubali The Beginning and Bahubali The Conclusion presented together as one film. With grand fan-following and promotions, the Telugu film is the eighth top-grossing film worldwide and twelfth top-grossing film in the US markets for the weekend.

Bahubali The Epic had a grand opening on October 31. The Telugu film made $1.4 million in India and $2.2 million across the global ticket windows. By the time it closed the first weekend, the collections rose above $3 million in India alone.
Comscore ranked Bahubali The Epic at eighth slot on its weekly list of top grossing films worldwide. It earned $838,000 in the US markets in three days since it released in theatres across 450 screens.
Bahubali The Epic is a remastered and reedited combined version of the two films that comprised the Bahubali franchise. The first film hit theatres in 2015 and catapulted Prabhas’ stardom to a national and global level. The second film released in 2017 and became the highest grossing Indian film ever in North American markets.
V Vijayendra Prasad was credited for the story of both the previous films while Rajamouli wrote the screenplay. The new film also features remastered music by MM Keeravani. It is currently running in theatres in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam apart from the original Telugu language. According to reports, some portions have been edited out while a few others, which were not part of the previously released films, have been added to Bahubali The Epic.
SS Rajamouli films beyond Bahubali The Epic
SS Rajamouli created a global wave around Indian cinema with RRR . The period action-drama focused on the friendship between two freedom fighters. Last year, Netflix released a documentary on the filmmaker titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli which was based on his life and works.
Set in the 1920s when India was still in her pre-independent era, RRR revolves around the tale of friendship between two revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan played Raju, Jr. NTR essayed the role of Bheem in the film. British actors Alison Doody, Olivia Morris and Ray Stevenson, also feature in the Golden Globe-winning film.
Meanwhile, the Kannada blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1 is inching close to $100 million at the global box office. The Rishab Shetty film closed one month at the global ticke windows with $95 million collection worldwide.
