Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg is starring in his first-ever brand spot with State Farm, which is going live on YouTube and social media today (Dec. 17) and will debut on TV during the NBA Christmas games Dec. 25.

Building on the State Farm With the Assist platform that launched earlier this year, the commercial shows how great assists happen everywhere, both on the court and in everyday life.

Inspired by classic athlete kudos, the “Jersey Swap” spot features Flagg, the No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft out of Duke, teaming up with Jake from State Farm and a few unlikely teammates like a coach and a hot dog vendor as they swap “jerseys” to highlight all the great assists that make basketball possible.

“Grateful for the opportunity to work with State Farm for the first time,” said Flagg, who turns 19 on Sunday. “Filming the spot with Jake from State Farm was a lot of fun and getting to see how much the brand cares about basketball and the people around the game was special. It’s cool to be part of a campaign that’s not just about the highlights, but about the little assists that really help people out, on and off the court.”

This collaboration marks another milestone for the brand as they continue their work this year with big-name talent like SZA, Kai Cenat, Caitlin Clark, Patrick Mahomes Derrick Henry and now, Flagg, who on Monday became the youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points when he dropped 42 in a 140-133 overtime loss to the Utah Jazz.

“Teaming up with Cooper Flagg is a slam dunk for our brand—it brings in a rising star who embodies the Good Neighbor spirit, on and off the court,” said Kristyn Cook, Executive Vice President and Chief Agency, Sales & Marketing Officer for State Farm. “This campaign goes beyond basketball. It’s about making the assist and inspiring the next generation. We’re proud to have Cooper in our corner as we bring the magic of basketball to fans everywhere.”

Flagg could eventually earn over $1 billion on the court, to say nothing of his off-the-court earnings potential.

“Cooper is slated, if he does what he’s supposed to do, to probably reap over $1 billion on the court,” said New Balance marketing executive Naveen Lokesh,
