In recent years, Obsbot has been quietly creating its own ecosystem of webcams with its highly regarded Tiny Series. A pioneer in smart videography technology, the brand has today announced the global launch of the Obsbot Tiny 3 and Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite.
The Tiny 3 Series is a new generation of AI-powered webcams featuring 4K resolution and PTZ controls that enable the webcams to be panned, tilted and zoomed. With the launch, Obsbot wants to bridge the gap between what a webcam can do and what we might like it to do. Obsbot’s series of Tiny cameras have been designed to deliver studio-grade audio and high video quality in a seamless experience.
The Tiny 3 Series sets a benchmark for professional webcams by offering studio-grade spatial audio, high-quality imaging powered by AI intelligence in an ultra-compact aluminum-alloy body. Obsbot has designed the Tiny Series for content creators, podcasters, remote professionals, educators and live streamers who need premium video and sound quality without external microphones, cable clutter or complex setups.
“With traditional webcams, audio quality is often an afterthought,” says Liu Bo, CEO of Obsbot. “With the Tiny 3 Series, we rethought professionals and creators’ real needs: Video quality still matters, but audio, intelligence, and ease of use are just as critical. Tiny 3 delivers flagship imaging in an ultra-compact form for creators who want the best, while Tiny 3 Lite brings the same professional audio and AI experience to everyday workflows at a more accessible level. Together, the Tiny 3 Series gives users the freedom to choose the performance that best fits how they create and communicate.”
Top-Tier Spatial Audio
Both the Tiny 3 and Tiny 3 Lite models have one omnidirectional and two directional microphones powered by triple silicon Sisonic MEMS technology. This architecture is more commonly found in premium TWS earbuds and professional audio equipment. The microphones offer ultra-low distortion up to 130dB SPL, 69dB signal-to-noise ratio, full-spectrum 50Hz–20kHz frequency response and a consistent studio-quality audio.
The result is a webcam which can capture clear, natural and immersive sound with a range of pickup patterns that can rival a dedicated microphones connected through a USB audio interface.
To ensure the webcams can handle a variety of sound sources, Obsbot has included five dedicated audio profiles that can be set to adapt seamlessly to different creative and shooting scenarios.
Five Audio Modes
There is a Pure Audio Mode that has zero audio processing and offers studio-grade capture which is suitable for music recording, ASMR and precision post-production work. Then there is a Spatial Audio Mode that can capture an immersive stereo with enhanced left-right separation which would sit vlogging and ambient storytelling where soundscape is key.
The Smart Omni Mode provides an AI-powered 360-degree pickup that can balance vocals and ambient sound for meetings, group discussions and multi-speaker streams. Directional Mode is included so the webcam focuses on the voice in front of it while cutting out surrounding, making it suitable for solo presentations, podcasts or presenting in a noisy space.
Finally, there is Dual-Directional Mode which is designed to capture clear audio from front and rear while rejecting side noise. This is the choice for interviews, two-host podcasts and face-to-face conversations.
Smart Voice Locator
With a feature called Voice Locator, the Obsbot Tiny 3 Series can find the person speaking. Using spatial audio positioning, the webcam detects the direction that the speech is coming from and rotates the gimbal and initiates automatic subject tracking. Who needs a camera operator?
When combined with voice commands like “Hi Tiny,” users can start recording or meetings from anywhere in the room. The series also supports the optional Obsbot Vox SE wireless lavalier mic for cable-free audio. This tiny device includes a rechargeable battery and it can be attached to a presenter for capturing sound without wires. Each of the Tiny 3 webcams can connect with up to two Obsbot Vox SE mics.
Flagship Imaging
Tiny 3 is billed as the world’s smallest 4K PTZ webcam. Weighing just 63g and measuring 37 x 37 x 49mm, the compact webcam can sit on top of a computer monitor or laptop display. Alternatively, it can be attached to a tripod, grip or mount. Inside the webcam is a 1/1.28-inch CMOS image sensor capable of delivering 4K video at 30fps video or 1080p video at 120fps for high-frame-rate capture.
The Tiny 3 also has advanced DCG HDR for balanced highlights and shadows without motion blur. Exposure sensitivity goes from ISO 100–12800, making it suitable for low-light performance. Focusing is via ultra-fast Dual All-Pixel PDAF autofocus, which responds rapidly to live demos and sudden movements for cinematic video quality that can even give full-sized dedicated cameras a run for their money.
The slightly lighter and more portable Obsbot Tiny 3 Lite webcam also offers professional imaging quality, but to a wider audience. It uses a 1/2-inch stacked CMOS sensor with advanced HDR algorithms, fast All-Pixel PDAF autofocus, plus low-light handling from ISO 100 to 6400. The image sensor supports 4K video at 30fps and 1080p at120fps.
AI Tracking 2.0
Powered by Obsbot’s latest AI algorithms, taken from the company’s professional series of Tail cameras, the Tiny 3 Series has AI Tracking 2.0 for precise and customizable tracking without the need for constant manual adjustment.
The key capabilities of AI Tracking 2.0 include the accurate tracking of individuals, groups, hands and objects, with the “Only Me” mode for locked single-subject focus, plus there is Zone Tracking for professional framing control. The Auto Zoom function has customizable composition lines and Face Framing provides more professional-looking shots.
Voice Tracking combines audio positioning with visual tracking for hands-free operation. There are also Multiple AI modes, including a dedicated Desk Mode and Whiteboard Mode with the Tiny 3, plus Hand Tracking, which uses intuitive gesture and voice controls for controlling the webcams and providing an uninterrupted workflow suitable for live streaming.
Software For Pro Control
Using the Obsbot Center and Obsbot Live software, users can unlock the kind of creative controls you would only normally see on DSLR-level cameras. This includes settings for exposure and gamma curve adjustment, manual white balance tuning, NVIDIA Maxine Eye Contact, background blur and replacement and overlays. With the software, it’s possible to turn a desktop setup into a compact production studio.
Obsbot has also introduced two new software innovations to expand creative possibilities when making presentations, streaming or working on a creative production. RTC Remote Interaction enables real-time, bidirectional audio and video at 720P with sub-200ms latency, allowing remote participants to control PTZ, zoom and AI tracking directly using a browser.
The Virtual Camera features, powered by the OBSBOT Toolkit, can turn the Tiny 3 into a motion-capture-free virtual camera system with AI Tracking, pre-built avatars and scenes, plus there is one-click switching between virtual avatars, voice tones and environments.
A Webcam Ecosystem
Over the past few years, Obsbot has been creating its own ecosystem for webcams and the Tiny 3 Series integrates with the broader Obsbot ecosystem by supporting Obsbot’s Vox SE wireless audio and the Obsbot Talent mixer for multi-camera live streaming.
The ecosystem also supports Obsbot UVC – HDMI/NDI adapters, the Obsbot Tiny Smart Remote 2, Elgato Stream Deck and Switch 2 compatibility. Finally, Enhanced Sleep Mode 2.0 ensures privacy and the Tiny 3 series offers wide platform compatibility, simplifying deployment across a range of professional workflows.
I’ve had extensive play time with the Tiny 3 Series and tried out the various features. The only problem is how hard it is to go back to using a regular webcam once you’ve grown used to PTZ and the customization options that the Obsbot ecosystem offers. With this launch, Obsbot may have removed the need for large DSLR and mirrorless cameras for live streaming.
Pricing and Availability:
The Tiny 3 and Tiny 3 Lite models are available now from the official Obsbot online store, Amazon and selected retailers. The Tiny 3 is priced at $349 while the Tiny 3 Lite is $199.
