While Samsung fights to keep the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the upcoming Galaxy S26 handsets as low as possible, it is increasing the reach of another option. If you are happy with last year’s cutting-edge technology, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is available through Samsung’s Certified Re-newed program.
Galaxy S25 Ultra’s New Adventure
This week saw Samsung expand the Certified Re-newed store from South Korea and the United Ítates into France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Here in the UK, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is available for £1,153, compared to £1,349 for the same model purchased new; a saving of roughly fifteen percent. The Galaxy 25+ and the Galaxy S25 are listed but show as unavailable. As with all refurbished and reconditioned stores, stock levels will vary, so if you see the model you want, it’s best not to wait too long.
The Re-newed models come with Samsung’s manufacturer warranty, new parts fitted, quality testing, and critically, a new IMEI number.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Vs Galaxy S26 Ultra
Last year’s cutting-edge smartphone was launched at Galaxy Unpacked, alongside the latest version of Galaxy AI, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and support for Samsung’s S-Pen stylus. It also launched with seven years of software support and security upgrades, keeping the software in good shape until 2032. That applies to the Re-newed models as it does to brand new models.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to launch in late February and go on retail sale in early March. As with any current flagship, it will iterate on the current flagship, bumping up specs and polishing features to find as much performance as possible. That won’t negate the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s utility; in any case, the vast majority of software updates for the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also be available over the air for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra Becomes The Option
Consumers looking for the highest performance from their smartphones will know the Galaxy S26 Ultra is nearing launch. Those looking at the Certified Re-newed Galaxy S25 Ultra are already seeking a handset that leans more towards value for money, balancing performance and price.
And when the Galaxy S26 Ultra does launch, if consumers look at it and feel it is a good fit for them but a little too pricey… in comes the Galaxy S25 family and the caped Galaxy S25 Ultra to bring them their next smartphone.
