Saramonic has launched its next-generation intercom headset system at IBC 2024. The WiTalk 9 Series has been designed with the communication needs of teams in mind and uses Saramonic’s ClearTalk noise cancellation technology. Dual antennas to deliver full-duplex voice calls within the team over long distances. There’s also support for multi-person hands-free operation without the need for a hub The WiTalk9 is aimed at movie crews, large events and emergency situations.
With dual antennas, the WiTalk9 Series has a range up to 500 meters, enabling team members to reach each other with less interference from other radio signals like 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Saramonic’s ClearTalk technology is built around a three-microphone array that uses a noise cancellation algorithm that filters out background and wind noise.
With high volume, the system aims to provide clear conversations even in situations where the Sound Pressure Level reaches levels as high as 130dB. The WiTalk9 Series also connects with smartphones or computers through cables or wirelessly for cross-location communication via online means, breaking geographical restrictions when talking with teams around the world.
Unlike conventional intercom systems and walkie-talkies, the Saramonic WiTalk9’s headset is hands free. Controls on the headset needs only one-hand. Turning the knob to adjust the volume or press it to activate Broadcast or PTT mode. Raise the boom to mute and pull back down to start talking again. The Saramonic app also provides access to functions such as Adaptive Frequency Hopping, using large icons to make the system easier and faster to use.
Built for medium to large teams, the WiTalk9 intercom system propvides full-duplex, multi-person communications without the need for a hub. Up to nine users cann be connected directly for an easy setup without the hassle of cables. With wired cascading, it’s possible to connect four systems to support as many as 30 users at once.
The WiTalk9 SE version is for smaller teams and can supports up to five people in a single full-duplex system and up to nine people with two systems connected with wired cascading.
The lightweight design of the WiTalk 9 Series means the headset is comfortable to wear for long periods. The adjustable headband is wrapped in lambskin to ensure a proper fit that won’t cut into the scalp. Aviation-grade cooling gel ear cushions provide noise isolation as well as cooling and sweat protection for the ears. The replaceable temple pad is made from protein leather for long-term wear, while the PC+30GF frame is durable and wear resistance. With an IPX5 rating, the WiTalk 9 can be used in the wind and rain.

Pricing: The Saramonic WiTalk9 1.9G Series is available from $449 to $1,729, and the SE 2.4G Series is set is priced between $409 and $669.The price range depends on the number of additional units included.
