Battlestate Games has announced that the Night Of The Cult event in Escape From Tarkov will end early next week, which likely means that the official Halloween event will follow shortly after.

The cultist event, which launched a few days ago, will come to an end on October 21 at 10:00 AM BST / 5:00 AM EDT. At this time the event will become unavailable, along with any rewards that you have not yet earned. Once the event is over you will no longer be able to earn any extra rewards.

The event increased the spawn rates of cultists across multiple maps, and even added some new cultist bosses who proved to be pretty difficult to take down. There were a few quests to complete, which offered some solid rewards such as marked room keys if you completed them.

However, some players complained that the spawn rates of cultists in Tarkov was still not high enough to make the event easy to complete, with many struggling to find the hooded figures in raids. If you are yet to complete the event then you have until Monday morning to do so, otherwise the quests will disappear from your quest log and you will not be able to complete them.

However, the end of the event should make way for the official Halloween event to launch in the following days. Every year the Tarkov dev team cooks up something special for Halloween, which last year included pumpkins invading the map and a giant spectral ghost appearing on the map if certain conditions were met.

There is no word on what the Halloween event in Escape From Tarkov will be this year, but if I were a betting man, I’d put money on the pumpkin loot containers returning and Tagila being given a scythe once again to make him even scarier. With a lot of the dev team working on content for the upcoming 1.0 launch the event may not be as big as previous years, but some of the other recent events have been impressive so I could be wrong on that.

There’s also a chance that we may get the promised Unity 2022 engine upgrade in the next few weeks, as it has been in testing for a while now and the early reports from Nikita suggested that it was working reasonably well. If no major issues have been found during the extended testing period, then it would not be a surprise to see the upgrade launch over the next few weeks before we hit the end of the wipe.
