Several counties in and around New York City take the cake for being some of the wealthiest in New York. Financial advisor guide SmartAsset ranked the wealthiest counties across the U.S. by comparing investment income, property value and median income.

No New York counties made the top 10 wealthiest counties in the U.S. but here’s a look at the most affluent places in the country, according to SmartAsset:

  1. Teton County, Wyoming

  2. Pitkin County, Colorado

  3. Nantucket County, Massachusetts

  4. San Mateo County, California

  5. Santa Clara County, California

  6. Marin County, California

  7. Summit County, Utah

  8. Falls Church City, Virginia

  9. San Francisco County, California

  10. Loudoun County, Virginia

New York County had the highest median home value of $1,102,025, according to the report’s findings. Kings County followed in second with a median home value of $833,699 and Westchester County came in third with a median home value of $787,186.

New York state’s median home value falls fairly below the top three at $317,315.

The Long Island counties topped the median income list as Nassau County took the number one spot with a median income of $137,709 and Suffolk County had the second-highest median income with $122,498. Putnam County followed closely behind with $120,970, the report states.

All three reached far beyond the state’s median income, which is $74,472.

New York County took the top prize again, as it has the highest investment income with a median of $360,316, according to SmartAsset. Westchester County trailed behind in second with a median investment income of $183,862 and Saratoga County came in third with $114,732.

However, all far exceeded the Empire State’s investment income of $46,454.

Chautauqua County in Western New York is the least wealthiest county in the state, according to the report, with a median income of $54,625, a median investment income of $25,164 and a median home value of $163,812.
