In case you missed Thursday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:
Another day, another NYT Mini Crossword puzzle to solve! This will be my last day writing the Mini Crossword guide, as I pass the torch every three weeks to my colleagues Kris Holt and Paul Tassi. I write a daily Wordle guide, however, if you’re ever looking for a bit of an edge with that game.
The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.
Answers to today’s Mini Crossword below . . . .
Spoilers ahead!
ACROSS
1 — Icelandic singer with 16 Grammy nominations — BJORK
6 — Batman’s sidekick — ROBIN
7 — African mammal with striped legs — OKAPI
8 — Awkward response to hear when you introduce yourself to someone — WEMET
9 — Competed in a 5K — RAN
DOWN
1 — Boyd part that can be furrowed — BROW
2 — Batman’s archnemesis — JOKER
3 — President who used Keegan-Michael Key as his “anger translator” at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner — OBAMA
4 — Turn red, as a chili pepper — RIPEN
5 — Make a scarf — KNIT
I wasn’t 100% certain about 1-Across but Bjork is one of the only Icelandic singers I can think of, and once I’d seen that 1-DOWN was obviously BROW I was pretty much certain. The Batman ones were super easy—and ironic since I just posted my review of The Penguin—and even though I had no idea about 7-Across (I don’t think I’ve heard of an OKAPI before) and didn’t have an answer for 8-Across, the rest were pretty easy and filled those in as I went. I finished in 1:09 because I flubbed with a typo spelling OBAMA OBMAA and confused myself.
How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
