In case you missed Thursday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:

Wondering what “CD” or “XL” might refer to? Not sure what an alternative to Yahoo! or AOL is? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Friday, September 27 (spoilers lie ahead, of course):

NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers

Across

1 Across: Aptly named brand of road and mountain bikes — TREK

5 Across: “CD” — SEEDY

6 Across: “XL” — EXCEL

7 Across: Make amends — ATONE

8 Across: Alternative to Yahoo! or AOL — MSN

Down

1 Down: Much political campaign outreach these days — TEXTS

2 Down: Mission for a scout, for short — RECON

3 Down: Garden with forbidden fruit — EDEN

4 Down: Friend of Kenny, Stan and Cartman on South ParkKYLE

5 Down: Feature that some undergarments claim not to have (but it’s often just less noticeable) — SEAM

It took me 0:24 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

I was glad to have a fast solve even though I only got ATONE and MSN on my first pass of the Across clues. I managed to get all of the Down words except for TEXTS, but that made clearing up tricky Across words such as SEEDY and EXCEL pretty straightforward.

That’s the end of my current stint on the NYT Mini guide for now. If you need some help with Saturday’s NYT Mini, make sure to check out Paul’s blog. Meanwhile, if you play other NYT games such as Wordle, Connections and Strands, be sure to check out Forbes Games for our guides to each daily puzzle.
