In case you missed Sunday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:

Wondering who a professional in toque might be? Not sure what “focuses on the road” means? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Monday, September 2 (spoilers lie ahead, of course):

NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers

1 Across: Professional in a toque – CHEF

5 Across: “I’m not a ___” (online affirmation next to a checkbox) – ROBOT

7 Across: Love, in Italian – AMORE

8 Across: Wards (off) – FENDS

9 Across: Secret rendezvous – TRYST

Down

1 Down: Woodcarving or metalsmithing, e.g. – CRAFT

2 Down: It’s going … going … gone! – HOMER

3 Down: Dark wood once used for drinking cups, as it was thought to neutralize poison – EBONY

4 Down: Focuses on the road? – FORDS

6 Down: One might be multiple-choice – TEST

It took me 0:29 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

Another speedy solve, so I’m happy about that. I got ROBOT, AMORE (thanks to the Dean Martin song) and TRYST on my first pass of the Across clues. Those helped me fill in the gaps for all the Down clues.

I thought 2 Down was auction-related before I saw the letters that were already filled in, and I probably wouldn’t have figured out EBONY otherwise. Also, I thought 4 Down was a clever clue.
