Sunday, lazy Sunday. I always talk a good game when it comes to being lazy on this particular day and I’m not sure why. I invariably have tons of stuff going on, including a good deal of work, pretty much every Sunday! Maybe it’s wishful thinking.

This went fairly well, and I suppose I can chock that up to using Wordle Bot’s favorite starting word (or one of them, in any case) CRANE as my opening guess. It’s a good opener! I walked away with two yellow boxes and just 21 remaining solutions. BICEP slashed this to just two, though I could only come up with one: DICEY for the win!

How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
- Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
- You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word “dicey” originated in the 1940s, deriving from the game of dice. It implies risk or unpredictability, much like rolling dice, where the outcome is uncertain. The term came to mean “dangerous” or “uncertain” in situations.
