Alex Pereira successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight title on Saturday night in the main event of UFC 307 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pereira scored a fourth-round KO win over a game but ultimately overmatched Khalil Rountree Jr. While Rountree had his moments–and even scored a second-round knockdown–Pereira’s massive third round set the stage for the destructive end in the fourth.
Here is a look at the finish.
The win gave Pereira his third successful defense of the light heavyweight title, and both fighter’s performances earned the Fight of the Night bonus.
In the co-main event, Julianna Pena regained the UFC women’s bantamweight title with a razor-thin split decision victory over Raquel Pennington. I scored the Fight 48-47 in favor of Pena, and two of the three judges agreed.
Here is a look at all the results from UFC 307 and highlights of the other finishes on the card.
All fighters who earned performance bonuses have a trophy icon next to their name below.

- Roman Dolidze def. Kevin Holland via TKO at 5:00 of Round 1 (Holland was Injured in the first round and couldn’t continue)
Holland is as tough as they come, so while it was tough to see how his injury happened, he has earned the respect of his peers and the MMA community. He must have been injured seriously enough to stop the fight if he couldn’t continue.
Here is the sequence when the injury happened.
- Kayla Harrison def. Ketlen Vieira via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
UFC 307 Preliminary Card Results
- Joaquin Buckley – 🏆 def. Stephen Thompson via KO at 2:17 of Round 3 – Performance of the Night
Thompson’s style was beginning to give Buckley some problems. While Buckley could secure takedowns, he could not control the veteran point fighter.
Finally, Buckley decides to up his aggression and uses his explosiveness to close the distance. This huge right hand was the result and led to the KO win and the performance bonus.
- Iasmin Lucindo def. Marina Rodriguez via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
- Alexander Hernandez def. Austin Hubbard via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)

UFC 307 Early Preliminary Card Results
- Ryan Spann – 🏆 def. Ovince Saint Preux via submission at 1:35 of Round 1 (Guillotine) – Performance of the Night
Spann needed this win in the worst way.
He had been on a three-fight losing streak, but a right hand hurt Saint Preux, which opened up the guillotine that finished the fight and earned Spann the performance bonus.
- Tecia Pennington defeats Carla Esparza via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
- Court McGee defeats Tim Means via submission at 3:19 of Round 1 (Rear-Naked Choke)
In the opening fight, local favorite and UFC veteran Court McGee dominated Means and secured the victory with a rear-naked choke finish. I’m unsure how long we’ll see either of these mainstays in the UFC.
