No Southern Tier counties made the top 10 wealthiest counties in New York — most of those are in and around New York City — but across the region, SmartAsset identified several counties as standing out among the rest.

The least wealthy county in the Southern Tier is Allegany County. The median income is $58,725, the median investment income is $22,636 and the median home value is $121,977.
Broome County’s median income is $58,371, the median investment income is $31,337 and the median home value is $177,481.
