When a company releases a special edition or new color of an existing product, I don’t usually cover it, but today I’d like to make an exception for the award-winning Technics EAH-AZ100 wireless earbuds, which are being launched in a new Moonlight Lilac color as part of a partnership between Technics and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The exclusive Moonlight Lilac edition of the EAH-AZ100 true wireless earbuds will be available across Europe. I wrote about the AZ100 earbuds in January 2025 when they were initially launched in black and silver finishes. You can read more about how they perform here.
The EAH-AZ100 are the first wireless earbuds with special drivers developed by Technics using the company’s proprietary Magnetic Fluid Driver technology, which produces ultra-low distortion sound as well as a full-bodied bass blended with high-resolution frequencies, creating an authentic sonic signature.
New Driver Technology
The new drivers use technology that has been miniaturized from the high-end Technics EAH-TZ700 wired earphones. The drivers are suspended in an oil-type liquid that’s filled with magnetic particles and injected into the space between the driver magnet and voice coil. The result is less distortion thanks to the fluid that isolates the driver and reduces friction for a more accurate bass response.
Technics is donating 10% of the sale proceeds directly to the Teenage Cancer Trust charity and the company is also introducing a dedicated charity purchasing program, where an additional 10% of sales from selected products in the Technics range will be donated directly to the charity.
The Teenage Cancer Trust is the U.K.’s only charity that specializes in nursing care and expert youth support for young people undergoing cancer treatment. The charity works closely with Britain’s National Health Service to fund dedicated nurses, youth workers and hospital units so that young people with cancer can access the staff and facilities to support them throughout their cancer journey.
Supporting Teenagers With Cancer
The charity also runs regular events for young people with cancer, helping them regain some independence and meet others who are experiencing similar health problems.
Speaking about the collaboration with Technics, Sir Roger Daltrey, Honorary Patron of Teenage Cancer Trust and a leading advocate for improving care for young cancer patients, said: “Teenage Cancer Trust exists to ensure that young people with cancer receive the specialist care and human support they deserve. Partnerships like this help us continue that vital work and reach more young lives.”
