WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event marked a huge turning point for the women’s tag team division, which has been a surprising success story in 2026.
In the weeks leading up to the latest Peacock special, recent NXT call-ups Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence established themselves as the fastest-rising duo in the women’s tag team division. In their way? The uber-popular pair of Brie Bella and Paige, two cornerstones of the original women’s evolution in WWE.
After winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42 in April, Paige and Bella entered Saturday Night’s Main Event with arguably its toughest test to date.

WWE officially has new Women’s Tag Team Champions.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event in Madison Square Garden, the Fatal Influence duo of Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid picked up the biggest victories of their young careers. The former NXT stalwarts defeated Paige and Brie Bella thanks to a major assist from Jacy Jayne. With that win came their first taste of championship gold on the main roster.
Here are the biggest moments from Fatal Influence’s momumental win at WWE SNME:
- Laney Reid and Paige kicked things off before both stars tagged in their partners. Eventually, Paige and Bella hit a double running bulldog on Henley. Reid made a tag that Paige didn’t see and allowed Reid to take advantage.
- Reid worked over Paige, who eventually got the tag to Bella. Bella hit a side Russian leg sweep on Henley and then blasted her with the Yes Kicks. She followed up with running Brie Mode knees on both opponents and then a missile dropkick on Henley.
- Henley smashed Bella face-first into the ring mat, but Brie was able to tag in Paige. Jacy Jayne interfered on the apron, but Paige blasted her with a big forearm shot. That allowed Henley to hit a sliding German suplex on the ropes. Reid missed a huge Moonsault after Brie pulled Paige out of the way.
- Reid rolled up Paige, who kicked out and then blasted Reid with a kick to the face. Henley snuck in the ring and hit Paige with a vicious clothesline. Reid missed a corner charge and went shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. Reid rolled up Henley, but as she did that, Jayne jumped up on the apron and rolled Brie backward. That allowed Henley to grab the tights and steal the win with the 1-2-3.

Brie’s sister Nikki, who has been out of action since before WrestleMania 42, recently said she’d like to return to WWE as a heel. Talk about perfect timing.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Brie and Paige lost their Women’s Tag Team Championship, which they only won due to Nikki’s injury in the first place. Nikki had a short-lived heel run as a singles star last year, and it didn’t work out as well as planned. Now, it’s time for a do-over.
Paige’s improbable WWE return at WrestleMania 42 should lead to an extended singles run for one of the most accomplished women in WWE history. There is a long list of superstars Paige can feud with as a singles star, ranging from Becky Lynch to Iyo Sky to Jade Cargil.
