Thousands of people who applied for jobs at a West Coast McDonald’s franchise could soon see surprise checks worth more than $1,000 show up in their mailboxes.

Washington-based KTC LLC agreed to a $681.600 class action settlement after being accused of posting McDonald’s job listings without including pay ranges or salary information, according to The Sun.

Washington-based KTC LLC agreed to a $681.600 class action settlement.

The lawsuit claimed the company violated Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, which requires employers to disclose wage scales in job advertisements.

While KTC LLC denied any wrongdoing, the franchise operator agreed to settle the case rather than continue fighting it in court.

People who applied to KTC-operated McDonald’s locations between January 1, 2023 and March 13, 2025, may qualify for compensation if the listing they applied through did not include wage information.

Eligible class members are expected to receive around $1,093.40 each, though the final amount could vary depending on legal fees and number of payments issued.

The settlement is tied to Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, which requires employers to disclose wage scales in job advertisements.

Most people included in the settlement reportedly won’t need to submit a claim form or take further action to receive money.

Instead, settlement administrators are expected to automatically send paper checks to qualifying applicants using addresses already on file.

A final approval hearing is scheduled for August 30. If approved, payments are expected to begin going out about a month later.

Part of the settlement fund will also be used to cover attorney fees and administrative costs tied to the case.
