Riot Games has revealed a new map for Valorant called Summit, which features a new mechanic with walls that can drop mid round and cut off pathways through the map as a round progresses.
The new Summit map was revealed during the showmatch for the Valorant Masters London tournament, with some well known Valorant players jumping in to play the new map for the first time. As this is the only time we have seen the map so far, there isn’t too much info on how it will actually play, but we do know the basics of how the map will work.
Summit is a three lane, two site map, making it one of the more standard maps in the Valorant map pool. However, its unique feature is that across the map there are three droppable walls, one on the A site, one on the B site and one in Mid. These walls will block off key routes when they fall, changing the map as each round progresses. Players can drop the wall by shooting a switch near them, but once the wall drops it cannot be re-opened in that round.
Thematically the Summit map is set in China, in a Radiant training academy nestled in the mountains. It features training halls and meditation gardens, and does look quite nice, if a little bland.
The Summit map will launch in Valorant on June 24, as part of the Season 2026 // Act 4 update. Summit will immediately be playable in competitive when it launches and during the first two weeks, players lose 50% less RR for losses on Summit, but still gain 100% RR for wins. There will also be a Summit only queue.

The Act 4 update will also bring Retake, a 3v3 game mode that starts after the spike has already been planted. As the name suggests, it is all about retaking the site, and should be a good way for players to practise one of the rarer moments in Valorant. However, with somewhat random loadouts and it being a first to five competition, this may not be the most useful practise tool out there.
Finally the Act 4 update will also bring the Blackspyre Collection of skins, which feature custom art for the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, Ares, and new melee, the Divide, and there will obviously be a new battlepass to grind through. All of this will arrive on July 24, alongside the new Summit map in Valorant.
