Ramen for all!

Popular Korean grocery chain Mega Mart will head to Southern California with a new location in La Habra this week, replacing an Amazon Fresh grocery store which shuttered last year.

Located at 1610 W. Imperial Hwy in the La Habra Marketplace, the new supermarket will host a grand opening event at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 29.

Southern California’s first ever Mega Mart will open this week in La Habra.

Founded in 1975 in South Korea, the chain operates 14 stores across South Korea and four in the U.S. — Fremont Sunnyvale, and Palo Alto in California, and one location in Duluth, Georgia.

The chain is known for its wide selection of imported Korean goods including a huge selection of affordable ramen, sushi, and prepared meals. Mega Mart also sells Korean beauty products.

The new location in La Habra will also feature a dining area near the entrance, the Orange County Register reported.

Mega Mart’s grand opening on Thursday will offer its first 500 customers a free 5lb bag of Icheon rice.

The chain operates 3 other locations in California and one in Georgia.

Fans rejoiced at news of the grocer’s arrival in SoCal.

“Can’t wait! Finally a Korean market closer to where I live,” one commenter wrote.

“My teens are going to love this store!” said another commenter.

“This place is good. I went to the one up north,” a third said.

Founded in 1975, the Korean grocer is known for its wide selection of ramen, sushi, and prepared meals.

Mega Mart’s expansion to SoCal follows the arrival of Hashi Market to California.

Hashi Market is an NYC-founded Japanese grocer opened its first location in California earlier this month — inside a former Sprouts location.

Hashi offers a range of Japanese food offerings including bento boxes, onigiri, teriyaki skewers, katsu curry and baked salmon, along with house-made sausage buns and cheese breads. The chain also carries Japanese cosmetics, home goods and pop-culture merchandise.
