The Orchard – which at 70 stories and 823 feet is the tallest building in Queens – can boast of two milestones.

Its 824 rental apartments just passed the 90% leased mark after just 10 months of marketing. And it signed its first retail tenants — K-beauty brand Tokimo, Japanese tea and beverage brand Mollytea, and financial tech firm Intuit. The three tenants will have nearly 7,500 square feet combined, nearly all of the project’s retail space.

The Orchard’s 824 rental apartments just passed the 90% leased mark after just 10 months of marketing. Queens’ tallest building is expected to open by early 2027.

Construction finished last year, and the building is expected to open by early 2027.

The Orchard, which began receiving apartment tenants earlier this year, towers above the booming residential district in Long Island City near the foot of the 59th Street Bridge.

It surpassed nearby Skyline Tower’s 778-foot height as the borough’s tallest tower, and is the city’s second-tallest building outside Manhattan, topped only by Brooklyn Tower.

The project includes more than 100,000 square feet of amenities including a 60,000 square-foot landscaped recreation area, said to be the city’s largest private “backyard.”

Of 824 residences, 576 will be market-rate and 248 affordable. The building began receiving apartment tenants earlier this year.
