Immediately after Dynamite wrapped up, a special Wednesday night episode of AEW Collision aired from Portland, Maine, featuring the final build to Double or Nothing, which takes place Sunday, May 24, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
Collision was headlined by FTR defending the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong. With a title bout against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage already booked for Double or Nothing, would the Conglomeration duo pull off the shocking upset?
Will Ospreay was also in action against Katsuyori Shibata before facing Samoa Joe in an opening-round matchup of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on Sunday.
So what went down in the final part of the three-hour broadcast? Let’s take a look:
AEW Collision Results For May 20
- After Darby Allin successfully defends the AEW World Championship, Kevin Knight says Allin comes out week after week to prove that AEW is where the best wrestle. Knight says it’s up to Allin to humble MJF. He says if anyone can beat MJF, he knows Allin can. Knight tells Allin not to let the people down.
- As Allin has a microphone in his hand, MJF attacks him from behind. MJF pulls hair clippers from under the ring and attacks Allin with them, but Allin stops the attack. As Allin goes to shave MJF’s hair, MJF escapes.
- Will Ospreay def. Katsuyori Shibata by pinfall. After the match, Samoa Joe says he’s out to ensure the safety of his friends, but Ospreay made the choice not to be his friend. Joe says he’ll make Ospreay suffer the consequences. Ospreay says his match with Joe is a dream come true. He says 10 years ago, double neck surgery would’ve been it, and he’s aware he’s lost weight. He questions if Joe will kill him in the ring despite already being killed in the ring. Ospreay says he has the chance to live out his dream at All In with his whole country behind him. He says the Death Riders rebooted him into a killer, and Sunday begins his road to All In.

- Backstage, Adam Copeland says he and Christian Cage met in sixth grade and told each other they’d be tag team champions. They say their relationship has been real through trials and tribulations. Copeland says FTR wants to kill their connection at Double or Nothing, and they want FTR’s best on Sunday. Cage says FTR has made questionable choices, and they’re going to “f*** up” FTR for those choices.
