After an eventful Redemption pay-per-view, AEW Dynamite returned from the Masonic Temple in Detroit to showcase all the fallout from the show, and there was plenty to take in.

With three championship matches, the action was hot and heavy from the jump. Andrade El Idolo defended his newly won National Championship, Maya World put her fresh TBS Championship on the line, and The Conglomeration also defended the AEW World Trios Championship for an action-packed night.

Along with those matches, new AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale celebrated her title win at Redemption. How would she react, and would Mercedes Moné come out to spoil the party?

That, and much more, went down on Dynamite in the Motor City:

AEW Dynamite Results For July 29, 2026

  • A video package recaps the closing moments of AEW Redemption.
  • Outside the venue, The Death Riders confront Will Ospreay. While Jon Moxley stares Ospreay down, Daniel Garcia speaks up and gets hit by Ospreay. Moxley asks Ospreay if he really wants to do that, and Ospreay hands Moxley his Death Riders patch. Ospreay walks away and runs into Adam Page, who says he knows what it feels like to be in Ospreay’s shoes. Page tells Ospreay that if he needs anything, to let him know. He adds that Ospreay will be at his best ever at Wembley and that he’s got this.
  • The Death Riders aren’t quite trying to destroy Ospreay yet, but when the story reaches that point, Page is a logical ally. After all, he endured Moxley’s group on the road to All In 2025. For now, Page can’t challenge for the AEW World Championship, so helping Ospreay allows him to remain a babyface through Wembley. Once All In passes, AEW may have found a natural way to move him back into the world title picture, though that’s still a long way down the road.
  • Ospreay will need more than just Page if AEW leans into the numbers game, so perhaps United Empire reunites and gets involved.
  • AEW National Championship Match
Andrade El Idolo (c) def. Jack Perry and Nick Wayne by pinfall to retain the title.

After the match, El Idolo says he feels “tranquillo” after screwing MJF and Don Callis. He vows to become the greatest National Champion ever. When he hears about the qualifying match for the first spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In, El Idolo jokingly asks, “How you know?”

  • Backstage, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor say they want any members of Triangle of Madness and question why they haven’t seen Megan Bayne or Lena Kross.
  • Backstage, Kyle Fletcher says he retained his title without any help at Redemption and vows to become the greatest International Champion ever. Don Callis says they took some losses, but they’ll be fine. He says everyone needs family sometimes while looking at Kevin Knight, who says it felt great to go head-to-head with Kenny Omega. Knight hopes Fletcher can remain champion after Grand Slam Mexico, and Fletcher tells him to focus on his TNT Championship. Kazuchika Okada walks over and says the International Championship will stay in the family.
  • Mike Bailey, Brody King and Bandido def. Kyle Fletcher, Brian Cage and Jake Doyle by pinfall.
  • Renee Paquette interviews The Young Bucks and Adam Copeland and Christian Cage ahead of their AEW World Tag Team Championship match at All In.

Nick Jackson says he’s excited for the match and never thought it would happen. He credits Copeland and Cage with revolutionizing tag team wrestling, and Copeland returns the compliment by saying The Young Bucks did the same.

Copeland says tag team wrestling has often been shoved aside and that it’s an honor to share the ring with them. Cage says they didn’t come back for a greatest hits tour but to prove they’re still the best tag team of both the past and present.

Matt Jackson says they’re still building their legacy and reclaiming the tag team titles would make them the most decorated team in wrestling. Copeland says comparisons between the teams don’t matter, while Cage says things will look different at Wembley and asks whether The Young Bucks can elevate their game.

Copeland says there’s no doubt entering the match, and Matt says they’ve always wrestled with a chip on their shoulders.

  • TBS Championship Match
Maya World (c) def. Persephone by pinfall to retain the title. Kris Statlander stopped Hikaru Shida from interfering near the end of the match.
  • Backstage, Mark Davis says losing the National Championship was embarrassing and left him furious. He says Will Ospreay’s victory over him came with an asterisk because The Death Riders interfered, and he challenges Ospreay to a match at Grand Slam Mexico with The Don Callis Family banned from ringside.
  • Renee Paquette welcomes Willow Nightingale to the ring for her championship celebration.

Nightingale gets visibly emotional as fans chant, “You deserve it.” She reflects on her TBS Championship reign and the injury that followed, crediting her mother for helping pull her out of one of the darkest periods of her life. Nightingale says that if life has been kicking you around, don’t give up because sometimes the comeback can be even better than the dream.

Mercedes Moné comes to the ring and immediately demands Nightingale sign the contract for their All In title match. After Nightingale signs, she asks what Moné’s problem is and whether it has anything to do with ending the CEO’s TBS Championship reign. She says she thinks it’s because she now holds the one championship Moné can’t win.

Moné says she doesn’t just hate Nightingale’s smile or the fans’ adoration for her. She hates that Nightingale’s name is woven throughout her own story, recounting several moments from their history together. Moné says it’s time to end Nightingale’s fairy tale, claiming she made and elevated her before promising to take both her title and her smile.

As they brawl, Divine Dominion enters the ring and attacks Nightingale before The Brawling Birds make the save.

  • AEW Continental Championship Match
Jon Moxley (c) def. Komander by submission to retain the title.
  • Mick Foley is backstage with The Bang Bang Gang, sans Jay White. Ace Austin says they have big problems right now. Juice Robinson says they’ll face any combination of The Dogs tomorrow on Collision.
  • AEW World Trios Championship Match
The Demand def. The Conglomeration (c) by pinfall to win the titles. Lee Johnson, Blake Christian and Jay Lethal helped Ricochet’s stable capture the championships before continuing the beatdown after the match. Brody King and Adam Page made the save.
  • The Death Riders are outside the venue. Wheeler Yuta and Pac call out The Bang Bang Gang. Daniel Garcia calls out Will Ospreay, saying there’s a hard way into The Death Riders and a hard way out. Jon Moxley says the Continental Championship represents what professional wrestling is supposed to be about.
  • Tony Schiavone welcomes Kenny Omega to the ring. Before he can speak, Will Ospreay makes his way out.
  • Omega says he has something personal to tell Ospreay and wants to make it fun with a “show and tell.” He explains that he showed Ospreay exactly how he felt at Redemption, and it didn’t matter whether the fans misunderstood. He cares about Ospreay and wants the world for him. Omega asks if Ospreay remembers their conversation about being champion, when he said he’d always put their friendship above the championship. He also recalls Ospreay telling him it “sucked” that he’d given up on himself. But Omega insists he never gave up.

Ospreay explains that he returned too early from neck surgery because he wanted revenge. He didn’t want to shortchange anyone, but when he came back, he had no friends to lean on. Jon Moxley was there for him. Ospreay admits he enjoyed being a Death Rider, but never shared their philosophy of what it means to be world champion.

Omega says he heard the people while he had a chair wrapped around his neck at Redemption, and somehow knew Ospreay would save him. Taking the chair off his neck while holding the AEW World Championship in the ripped plastic bag helped him understand Ospreay better than ever before. Omega questions whether Ospreay was simply looking for a “thank you,” prompting Ospreay to declare that they’re no longer friends.

Omega says Ospreay crumbles under pressure and will always be a step behind him before repeatedly slapping him across the face. Ospreay finally snaps, knocks Omega down and warns he’ll beat him up every time Omega puts his hands on him.

Ospreay closes by saying it’s finally his turn to kick the ball with an entire country depending on him to “bring it home” and pull the trigger.
