If you’re not a competitive gamer, you may not realize how much difference a good keyboard can make. A responsive keyboard can be the difference between winning and losing. The new K5 Pro TMR Compact from Cherry XTRFY takes the company’s popular K5 keyboard to a new level.
The Cherry XTRFY K5 Pro TMR Compact gaming keyboard uses Cherry MK Crystal Magnetic switches and Tunnel Magnetoresistance sensing technology. The result is more precise input and ultra-fast response times, all packaged in a compact keyboard with a stylish design that’s sure to appeal to gamers.
“The K5 has become an iconic keyboard in the Cherry XTRFY range and with TMR, we’re taking it even further. As the next evolution in magnetic keyboards, TMR delivers higher precision and greater flexibility, while 8000 Hz polling brings you a faster, more responsive gaming experience than ever. With full customizability for every keypress and the features gamers need for a competitive advantage, the K5 Pro TMR is built for those who play for the win”, says Joakim Jansson, director of product management at Cherry.
Micrometer-Level Precision
This new keyboard offers micrometer-level precision and fully customizable keystrokes using Tunnel Magnetoresistance technology. TMR is the next evolutionary step in the development of magnetic keyboard switches. Compared to regular Hall-Effect sensing switch technology, TMR can deliver even greater precision by sensing extremely small changes in the magnetic field of the switches with an accuracy of 0.01 mm.
For gamers, TMR technology means noticeably higher sensitivity and shorter response times. Those are differences that can win a game. When paired with Cherry’s MagCrate software, the user can have complete control over every keystroke, including fine-tuning actuation points and assigning multiple functions to a single key based on how far or for how long it’s pressed.
The K5 Pro TMR Compact has an 8000Hz polling rate. Most keyboards can only manage 1000Hz. This means the keyboard is transmitting signals to the host computer up to eight times every millisecond. Combined with TMR, which detects keystrokes without mechanical contact, the keyboard can deliver exceptional sensitivity, stable signals and with minimal latency. This means extremely fast reactions for a competitive advantage when gaming.
Pre-Lubricated Stabilizers
RGB LED strip lighting provides the new K5 Pro TMR with a dynamic spectrum of colors. Other advanced features include hot-swappable switch support, enabling switches to be swapped out with other magnetic options. The keyboard’s construction consists of a metal plate combined with multi-layer damping materials and pre-lubricated, PCB-mounted stabilizers.
The result of all this engineering is smooth and vibration-free operation with acoustically clear feedback, which should mean more comfortable typing during extended gaming sessions, while still letting users fine-tune the feel of the keyboard to suit their individual preferences.
The new keyboard uses a compact 65% layout, which helps to free up desk space for wider mouse movements and gives gaming setups a cleaner and more ergonomic look. Combined with ultra-fast performance from TMR technology, the K5 Pro TMR is aimed at ambitious gamers looking for precision, speed and comfort.
