Ella Langley Almost Scores The Biggest Song In The World

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” became a huge smash in America early in 2026, though the track actually dropped in 2025. Langley shared the tune, the first taste of her then-upcoming sophomore album Dandelion, in October 2025, and amazingly, the smash continues to grow in popularity around the world to this day.

On most Billboard tallies that focus on American consumption, “Choosin’ Texas” has nowhere left to climb. There is still room to grow globally, though, and Langley nearly scores the biggest song in the world this week for the first time — an extremely rare showing for country music.

Ella Langley Nearly Scores the Biggest Song in the World

“Choosin’ Texas” steps up one space from No. 3 to No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200, nearly becoming the most popular song in the world. The ranking measures worldwide streaming and sales activity, and it lists each week the most-consumed tunes.

The single reaches its new high during a milestone fortieth frame on the Billboard Global 200. No. 2 also marks a new career best for Langley, as “Choosin’ Texas” remains her only top 10 hit on the worldwide roster.

Shakira and Burna Boy Block Ella Langley From No. 1

Langley is blocked from the penthouse by Shakira and Burna Boy. Their collaboration “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” holds steady at No. 1 after first working its way to the summit last month. The team-up has now spent four frames dominating the Billboard Global 200.

“Choosin’ Texas” trades places with Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me.” The former No. 1 dips to third place, though it may rebound when Billboard publishes another round of rankings. Grande’s album Petal is about to launch at No. 1 on various lists and the songs featured on the set may also perform well globally.

Ella Langley Reaches New Peaks on Both Global Charts

“Choosin’ Texas” establishes a new high point on both of Billboard’s worldwide tallies this week. In addition to its No. 2 showing on the Billboard Global 200, the single advances from No. 47 to No. 43 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

The latter ranking excludes American consumption, which helps explain why Langley has not performed quite as spectacularly on that tally. “Choosin’ Texas” remains her only hit on the list, and 20 weeks into its run — half as long as its stay on the Billboard Global 200 — it is now the closest it has ever come to breaking into the top 40.

Ella Langley Holds at Her Career High Point on Several Lists

“Choosin’ Texas” only reaches new peaks on the two global rankings, but it holds at its all-time high on several other tallies. The smash repeats at No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart.

The single also remains just outside the top 10 on the Pop Airplay ranking. “Choosin’ Texas” is steady at No. 11, sitting in the highest position it has ever reached on the poppy radio list.

Ella Langley’s Smash Ties a Historic Country Hit

“Choosin’ Texas” secures its sixteenth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while its reign on the Hot Country Songs tally extends to 34 frames. That latter total ties Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” for the third-longest run at No. 1 in the history of the ranking of the most popular country tracks throughout the U.S.
