Fabletics Takes Retail Formula Global With 20 Store International Push

Fabletics is stepping up its international expansion, planning to open approximately 20 stores outside the U.S. over the next 12 months as the digitally native activewear brand seeks to take rapid domestic growth global.

The expansion will triple Fabletics’ international retail footprint and take the company into new markets including India, the U.A.E., Colombia, Peru and Central America. It comes alongside plans for another 25 U.S. stores, putting the brand on course to add around 45 locations worldwide over the next year.

The strategy marks a significant acceleration from the position Fabletics occupied at the beginning of 2026. In January, the company had 120 stores globally, including 114 in the U.S., with plans for 40 new locations split broadly between domestic and international markets. It had opened 20 stores during 2025, while revenue rose roughly 20% and crossed the $1 billion threshold for the first time.

That performance has given Fabletics the confidence to expand at a time when many retailers remain cautious about committing capital to physical stores.

“Retail has become an increasingly important growth driver for our business,” Fabletics co-founder and CEO Adam Goldenberg said in announcing the latest expansion. “As our retail model continues to deliver strong results in the U.S., we’re confident it can scale globally.”

Fabletics is also targeting $2 billion in annual revenue within five years and quadrupling EBITDA, after reaching more than $1 billion in net revenue in 2025.

From Digital Native To Global Retailer

Fabletics was founded in 2013 around a digitally driven membership model, using customer data, personalized offers and accessible pricing to challenge the premium positioning of established activewear brands. But its evolution increasingly has been about physical retail.

In January, Meera Bhatia, Fabletics’ President said that the company had reached a point where stores were becoming a strategic complement to its digital origins rather than simply another sales channel.

The company says its U.S. stores have generated three consecutive years of double-digit same-store sales growth, giving management what it describes as a “proven U.S. retail model.”

Its stores are also increasingly designed as brand and community destinations. The Century City flagship in Los Angeles, for example, carries the full women’s and men’s ranges alongside its more recent scrubs business, while incorporating smart fitting rooms connected to customers’ membership profiles and purchase histories.

India Becomes A Key Test

Among the new markets, India could prove particularly important. Fabletics has entered the country through a partnership with domestic giant Reliance Brands, giving it access to a local operator with experience building international fashion and lifestyle brands. Its first Indian store is at DLF Promenade in New Delhi, with a second location planned in Mumbai. The business is launching with both physical stores and a dedicated website.

Bhatia said previously that the company expected to rely increasingly on partners and franchising as international expansion accelerated. At that point, its overseas operation consisted of two stores in Mexico, one in Guatemala, one in Dubai and a shop-in-shop at Peek & Cloppenburg in Berlin. Berlin also served as the company’s European headquarters, overseeing its U.K., German, Dutch and French markets.

“Our international growth is driven by a disciplined approach to market expansion and a commitment to delivering a consistent brand experience for customers around the world,” said Meera Bhatia, President, Fabletics.

“As we enter new countries and scale our business globally, we’re focused on entering the right markets, leveraging local expertise and tailoring our approach to meet the unique needs of each region, while staying true to the Fabletics brand.”

A Bigger Challenge Than Opening Stores

The international opportunity also comes with a bigger operational challenge. Fabletics now has more than three million active customers, with its collections already sold online in the U.S., Canada and Europe, while wholesale provides an additional, albeit relatively small, route to market.

The company has deliberately kept wholesale limited because it prefers to control the customer relationship. Its membership proposition is central to that strategy, with members accounting for more than 90% of sales, according to the company.

Fabletics’ response has been to broaden the definition of the brand itself. Its proposition now extends beyond leggings and workout clothes into men’s apparel, fashion, wellness wear and scrubs. It has also leaned heavily into celebrity and cultural partnerships to expand Fabletics into an active lifestyle brand rather than simply an activewear retailer.
