Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis
Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here.
CRIME did pay today, leaving me with just 16 words and three green boxes. And you know what? I wanted to guess TRIBE. I thought, this is a fun word and I want to guess it, but then I thought “No, no, Erik, don’t be foolish. Guess new letters. Narrow it down. There could be all sorts of other words out there!” and so I guessed PUNTS and that left me with, I thought, just TRIBE though Wordle Bot says I had two words to choose from. The other was TRIKE which, okay, I suppose I just haven’t thought about trikes in a few years. Here’s a song for you that I thought of when I saw what today’s Wordle was. Actually, this is a scene from Station Eleven, which is a wonderful TV show and you should just watch the show before watching this scene. But here it is:
Competitive Wordle Score
The Bot and I tied for 3 which earns us each 1 point. Our August totals just past mid-month are now:

Today’s Wordle Etymology
“Tribe” comes from Latin tribus, originally referring to one of the traditional divisions of the Roman people. It may be related to tres (“three”), traditionally linked to Rome’s three early tribal divisions. It entered English through Old French tribu and broadened to mean a social group united by ancestry or community.
