Yesterday’s NYT Strands puzzle was one of the hardest I’ve seen in a very long time. Today’s is a bit less challenging, but still a decent enough head-scratcher. Below, find some extra clues, the first two letters of each word and, at the end of all that, the answers. Let’s uncover some words!

Looking for Tuesday’s Strands? Check out our guide right here.

How To Play Strands

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Hints

Read on for today’s theme and some hints to help you uncover today’s words.

Today’s Theme: You’ve got . . .

Hint: Think “moxie” or “guts” or “the spirit.”

The first two letters of each word:

Remember, spoilers ahead!

What Are Today’s Strands Answers?

Today’s spangram is: WHAT IT TAKES

Here’s the full list of words:

  • NERVE
  • SPUNK
  • GUMPTION
  • PLUCK
  • GRIT
  • FIBER
  • HEART

Here’s the completed Strands grid:

Today’s Strands Breakdown

I was a little confused when I found FIBER. You’ve got . . . healthy bowels? A good diet? HEART cleared that up. I suppose this is moral fiber, then. Lots of small words today like PLUCK and GRIT, which made this a bit trickier. I got all the words on the right and then found the spangram, WHAT IT TAKES, before finding the left-side words.

How’d you do on your Strands today? Let me know on Twitter and Facebook.
