JBL Cove is a new range of whole-home Wi-Fi speakers designed to distribute music throughout a home. The speakers provide a flexible and expandable audio system powered by JBL’s in-house platform and the JBL One app. Cove aims to simplify the connection and control of speakers throughout a home.

The new speaker range is made up of three Wi-Fi models designed to transform living spaces with immersive sound. The JBL Cove M1 is a compact design for everyday listening. The JBL Cove P1 is a portable design offering battery-powered convenience and Dolby Atmos sound.

Finally, the new JBL Cove X1 is the flagship speaker of the range and features four tweeters and dual woofers for room-filling audio with Dolby Atmos support. JBL says that each Cove speaker can work as a standalone unit, as a stereo pair or as part of a multi-room sound system.

The speakers can adjust to almost any space thanks to JBL’s proprietary Constant Sound Field. This automatic self-tuning system, coupled with AI Sound Boost technologies are designed to optimize audio performance based on where the speaker is positioned.

The new Cove range offers audio support over Wi-Fi and is compatible with Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Google Cast. The speakers are Roon Ready and support Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect.

“JBL has spent decades delivering incredible sound experiences wherever people are. Today, we’re setting a new benchmark for the future of JBL home audio. JBL Cove marks an important step in our ambition to become a leading force in home audio, combining JBL Legendary Sound with the simplicity, flexibility and outstanding value that will help even more people discover how simple it is to have great sound throughout the home,” says Carsten Olesen, president of consumer audio at JBL’s parent company Harman.

A System That Flows

JBL says setting up a home audio system should be easy and that using it should be even easier. It’s a good point. Some multiroom audio systems can be cumbersome and difficult to control. The JBL Cove system is designed to make listening easy. Users can play music around the home by creating a group using the JBL One app. When you want to listen to music in just one room, simply start streaming there. There’s no ungrouping or resetting of speakers.

Cove speakers are designed to work seamlessly with JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, making it easy to expand from music listening to a home theater experience using the same connected system. Using the JBL One app, JBL Cove speakers can be added to the soundbar to work as rear channels for an immersive Dolby Atmos home theatre experience.

With JBL’s Music Follows Me feature, users’ playlists or TV audio moves with them by tapping the Moment button which lets the music flows with the listener without the need to use a phone or app.
