The Oscar-winning Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters is soon getting a set from the famed brick-building toymakers in the form of the film’s supernatural animals Derpy Tiger and Sussy Bird.
An animated featured directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters, of course, became a worldwide phenomenon not long after it was released on Netflix on June 20, 2025. Within 91 days of the film’s release, KPop Demon Hunters— about a K-pop singing trio named HUNTR/X, moonlight as demon slayers — became the most streamed Netflix movie worldwide in history of the platform with 325.1 million views, equating to 541.8 million viewing hours.
In addition to winning Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (for “Golden”) earlier this year, the film took the same honors in the categories at the Critics’ Choice Awards and Golden Globes and won Best Picture (animated) from the Producers Guild Awards and Annie Awards. Most recently, KPop Demon Hunters won four American Music Awards, including Song of the Year for “Golden.”
The surprise success of KPop Demon Hunters left toy companies scrambling to create merchandise based on the movie musical, and now, nearly a year after the film’s release, LEGO has put its Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set up for pre-order.
The set, which is designed for ages 9+, consists of 825 pieces and retails for $69.99. The pre-order page for the Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set is live on LEGO’s retail site, and the item is scheduled to begin shipping to consumers on Aug. 1.
The Derpy Tiger Comes With Two Different Expressions
According to LEGO, builders of the Derpy Tiger in the Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set will come with two different expressions— to either “show off the tiger’s goofy grin or let him deliver a sweet love note on his tongue.”
The set will also include movable features and comes with two love notes and a flowerpot for the Derpy to knock over.
According to the company, there will be more KPop Demon Hunters LEGO sets available in 2027.
The release of the LEGO set is the latest from a variety of toy companies releasing KPOP Demon Hunters this year or next, as Mattel, Hasbro, Funko, Hot Toys and others have dolls, action figures, games and more in the works.
Rated PG, KPop Demon Hunters stars the voices of Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo as HUNTR/X trio Rumi, Mira and Zoey, while EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami provide the singing voices of Rumi, Mira and Zoey.
A KPop Demon Hunters sequel is in the works at Netflix and is set for a 2029 release.
