Dern won the strawweight title from Virna Jandiroba at UFC 321 and she carried it into Philadelphia. The bout was the co-main event, one of two title fights on the card. The UFC had not posted main card scorecards at the time of writing, so the numbers above come from the broadcast rather than from the official sheet.
Dern seemed a bit tired in the final round after she’d chased a submission the first 20 minutes. She found herself on the bottom and defending Robertson’s strikes and attempts to gain an advantageous position. During the broadcast, Rogan said it was a mistake for Dern to end the fight on the bottom and in a posture that showed vulnerability. He and Daniel Cormier implied future opponents will use it as motivation and content to study.
They may have a point, but none of this should take away from how good Dern was on Saturday. She was bigger, faster, stronger and better. But yes, it would have been better for her to finish the fight looking as dominant as she was most of the night.
